I'm referring to the ones in the dorms.i realize giving a measurement in terms of "smokiness" will be difficult.

Depending on the battery strength, they can detect between a 6 and an 8 on the Briggs-Hauser scale.

Used to cook in the dorms without any problems. I'd be kinda paranoid though and I'd sometimes cook in the bathroom, where smoke/steam is a regular.

smoke detectors in Wolf Village are a lot more sensitive than the other dorms.but that's why there are windows to open, ceiling fans to turn on, and a vent over the oven, too.

yeah, just blow the bong smoke the other direction, you'll be finebut when we were freshmen...we took a paper towel roll and put a dryer sheet around the end of it with a rubber band and blew in that thingman...i do NOT miss those days.

well the ones in the apartment will go off at the slightest hint of smoke if i am cooking. But if someone else is cooking, the place could be burning down and it wont go off. [Edited on April 3, 2006 at 10:10 AM. Reason : ]
