It's people like you, so willing to believe anything negative about the opposition, that have forced politicians into constantly splitting cunt-hairs like they currently do.I'm far from an administration nut-cupper, but "thousands" is a commonly used figure of speech.[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 3:10 AM. youre thousand wrong.
4/2/2006 3:12:59 AM
I mean come on man"Oh Jesus I closed my browser by accident, I must have done that thousands of times""dude this is like the thousandth time I've stubbed my toe""Haha there were like thousands of bugs in my computer program I tried to write today"Stop creating issues where there aren't any. This nit-picky bullshit gives me an ulcer.
4/2/2006 3:19:29 AM
yea who cares about iraq anyway. its being handled just fine.
4/2/2006 3:24:07 AM
You're talking about a different situation, though.Someone might interpret these differently:"There must be thousands of dollars in that safe.""There were thousands of people killed in Iraq."
4/2/2006 3:24:46 AM
Nobody's making that argument. ^^[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 3:25 AM. Reason : .]

it aint about the facts, its about the truth
4/2/2006 3:27:43 AM
thousands? ok. lets count:2300+ us troops dead50000+ iraqis deadsounds like thousands to me.with the country on the verge of religious civil war, and a sufficiently emboldened Iran is developing nukes so they can preemptively strike dutch cartoonists.US foriegn policy: "Yeehaw motherfuckers! Bring it on!"

and dont forget the original mistake:Mistake #1: believing anything the Bush Administration ever said about Iraq.

Must have been a slow news day. They're really stretching on this one."Thousands of errors"--so do they have a list of errors all lined out that numbers in the thousands?Or maybe, each person in the theater makes one small mistake each day (wakes up late, makes a wrong turn on a convoy, has to do a go-around while landing, writes down the wrong frequency, etc), so I guess technically there'd be like several hundred thousand "tactical errors" each day. I guess if every After-action review for every single mission comes up with about 10 or so "improves" (which is normal for a larger operation), it could be. But, then again, I fail to see how that's shocking. The quote in context:

^ but we won WWII
4/2/2006 1:39:04 PM
Yes and how long was the unrest in Germany after the end of the war?Did Germany have foreign fighters streaming over the border after the war was over? Can we apply some critical thinking skills please? I don't particularly agree with the fucking war in Iraq either, but let's try to make a decently structured agrument for the love of God.
4/2/2006 1:41:50 PM
no one challenged the premise of world war II. which makes the whole analogy useless.(im sure there were some and support was probably not 100%, but you get the point)
4/2/2006 1:49:37 PM
You just made a statementThen notified us of why it's not validThen asked us to ignore thatIs this the kind of techniques they teach you in Poly Sci?[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 1:53 PM. Reason : .]

what is the level of support for the war right now?what was the level of support for the war when we invaded?what was the support for ww2? if 90% of the country supported it the entire time (and i bet that the number is higher than that) then i feel alright saying that no one challenged it. you certainly didnt have half the country saying "we were lied to"
4/2/2006 1:59:13 PM
Nobody wants to have the conventional military in an extended guerilla war.The differences here are so huge that there is practically no comparison between the two. There's no definate end to a war where foreign fighters continually stream over the border (and either we can't or won't do much about it).If I really have to go into the differences, I can. The only reason why I drew a comparison is because the number of casualties can hardly be regarded as a "mistake". Perhaps the reason behind the casualties occuring is, but listing them as reason in themselves is sensationalist.[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 2:05 PM. Reason : .]
4/2/2006 2:03:07 PM
did you think that maybe the "thousands" of errors didnt refer to the deaths but rather to actual errors?
4/2/2006 2:10:44 PM
why is this still being talked about?she meant "a lot"we know that.. a lot of mistakes were madei glad they're at least able to admit that[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 2:13 PM. Reason : .]
4/2/2006 2:13:24 PM
some of the mistakes we made:but then again, she didnt mean that we had made strategic mistakes.
4/2/2006 2:18:11 PM
OhOne of the people that uses the modern world as justificationWhat's next, a daily show transcript? You can't be fucking serious.
4/2/2006 2:19:50 PM
i just found it amusing.would you rather i go get fox news transcripts with quotes that have since been proved wrong?or are you one of those fox viewers that thinks sadaam used weapons of mass destruction on our troops?
4/2/2006 2:30:13 PM
I'm not even a republican you fucking ninnyI don't watch fox newsI don't vote for republicansWay to fucking assume, that because I don't agree with your shitty, asinine arguments that I'm from the opposition
4/2/2006 2:31:59 PM
so lets go back to the argument.the administration made thousands of mistakes in iraq. rice was wrong when she said they were only tactical.
4/2/2006 2:35:49 PM
Yes, let's
4/2/2006 2:44:13 PM
she said tactical. meaning blowing up the wrong building. of course mistakes like that are going to be made.but she said there were no strategic decisions. meaning we were correct in our assertion that us troops would be greeted with cheering crowds and that we would be gone within a few months.
4/2/2006 4:05:06 PM
Not entirely...I dont mean to play the armchair general here, but aren't they also resposible for what happens in the field in that policy of combat, security, and civil interaction is a basis of overall strategic decisions in this type of war?[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 4:12 PM. Reason : tactics = strategy?]

How cute! Admitting tactical mistakes to appear humble when the administration is really anything but. Aww...
