but they're only offering CSC 114 DE for both fall and spring, and that's not a course I'm comfortable taking DE.

Is this typical? Can I expect to have to either take 114 DE or at WTCC?
I can't do any of the other coursework without 114.

They technically don't offer a CSC minor anymore ... only a minor in computer programming. It might also be possible to substitute all of the xx4 courses with xx6 courses ... talk to Joyce Hatch in CSC Advising on whether that's possible.

You can also talk to Barbara Adams in CSC Advising ... she can put you in direct contact with the instructor for the CSC114 and 214 DE courses.

nah, 114 is C++. 112 is fortran.
and they're pretty specific about what you can take: e114, CSC 114, 214, 224, 234, 244, and 314, as well as a calculus. There's none of this "X hours from this group of courses" business.

I know. And I know it's not an accurate name, but to me, CSC = computer programming ...and it's not like all the courses aren't in the CSC department or anything

If I could do a ..6 route, that'd be grand. I could get this done so much quicker

i don't think it is

i just call it that out of a bad habit
and the problem with the xx6 route is that after two or three courses, the xx6s are restricted to CSC majos.

Talk to Joyce Hatch. Best recommendation in this thread. She'll know exactly what you can and can't do. Also, she can make majors-only requirements go away. To get my CSC minor (admittedly, I graduated in '02, courses required have probably changed) I had to get into a number of restricted courses, and an e-mail to Joyce Hatch was all that was needed.

You also need to talk to Joyce and figure out who is taking charge of the CSC programming minor after this year. Make sure the new minor advisor can do what needs to get done for you to get that minor

Joyce is retiring at the end of this semester. Barbara Adams is her replacement.
