Bottled water difference is often a few stepshttp://www.newsobserver.com/715/story/422751.html LeBleu starts with treated municipal water it buys from Davie County or draws from a well. Pepsi Bottling Ventures in Garner, maker of Aquafina, purchases water from the city of Raleigh, then puts it through additional steps to produce its product. Coca-Cola makes Dasani from Charlotte city water that it further treats.Nothing earth shattering, but kinda interesting.

Wow.... Aquafina. Freshly bottled water from the glorious Falls Lake. Drink up, Durham flushed hard to give you that glorious refreshment....

agreed, only reason i buy it is to have a bottle to take to gym/class and i have a horrific habit of loosing the reusable kind.(if someone has a better solution for that, let me know)

Camelbacks.... Can't lose 'em, cause you're wearing them.

thats why its sold as purified water, and not simply "mineral water"...and the word "purified" is REAAAALY small, so as to imply that by being bottled it is somehow superior, which i guess it is, but you can get the same thing from a PUR or similar filter on your faucetsimple marketing

hey i got a questioni may be an idiotbut if we have a water shortage and nobody can wash their cars or shit, why are we selling tons of water to Pepsi?
3/29/2006 2:40:55 PM
As with anything else, $$$

I can't believe that people pay money for water. I do admit that I've bought it, like someone said, so that I'd have a bottle to be able to refill. I can also understand buying flavored water, b/c its healthy like water but at least has some taste.I know its extremely old, but I remember way...way back when Evian was the one selling bottled water. Of course, we all know that Evian spelled backwards is "naive", but that was the running joke. Well, that, and the people who bought it. Hard to believe how much water is sold.

People complain about the price of gas but have no problem with the price of water. Now, thats funny.I simply complain about both.
3/29/2006 2:45:37 PM
where else would they get the water??aquafina isnt advertised as "spring water", so where the fuck else would they get it from?
3/29/2006 2:48:43 PM
when i buy bottled water i am buying the container, and i dont mind spending $1 for that because i often find myself without a cup and dont want to drink soda
3/29/2006 4:04:05 PM
it does not make sense to me that bottled water is the same price as, and in some cases more expensive than soft drinks. as the old saying goes "a fool and his money will soon part"
3/29/2006 4:30:22 PM
atleast aquafina isn't dasani though. that shit tastes like poison!
3/29/2006 4:59:51 PM
You pay money for water so you don't taste the metallic lead strips from the water fountain.Otherwise Brita your shit and call it a day.
