anybody got experience with Acomdata? none of the guys I work with have ever heard of them. Compusa has a 250GB AcomData hard drive on sale this week - $99. http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=318391&pfp=cat3 I'm wondering if it's even worth buying . . . They sell them at Best Buy and CompUSA, and through amazon. No one had reviewed this product on amazon tho - thought someone on here might have some advice

^ shut your hole...while in most cases, i'd agree with you, if the external hd is in an aluminum case (NOT PLASTIC) you don't need a fan on it (though it can't hurt)...i'm actually talking from experience of having 6 (count them, SIX) external hard drives in fanless aluminum enclosures and they have been doing wonderfully for more than 2 yearsAcomdata uses whatever hd deal they can get...but it'll PROBABLY have a seagate drive in it

yeah mine is in a fanless aluminum case and even with heavy use the temp doesnt go above maybe 110 or so which is really just warm, not hot[Edited on March 29, 2006 at 12:33 AM. Reason : ]
