We dont do personal attacks((on pat robertson))edit- can we get a transcript of that? thats amazing.[Edited on March 26, 2006 at 10:13 PM. Reason : shut up wolfweb. i already put my reason in the fucking post.]

once again, proof that political pundits are the scum of the earth, and if you listen to any of them you might as well just shoot your brain out.
3/26/2006 10:47:16 PM
How were any of those personal attacks? And by personal attacks, I mean talking about someone's personal life. If he calls someone a coward, it's because they did something pansy-like. If he wants to call the French cowards, because they are afraid to stand up against terrorism, then so be-it. But if he wants to call the french names because they wear silly berets and eat long bread, then those are personal attacks

calling someone a coward sure as hell IS a personal attackbut i don't see what the big deal is. a personal attack is often just as legitimate as any other sort of argument.
3/27/2006 8:01:43 AM
I think the point is that O'Reilly is a lying, hypocritical asshole. Yeah, we all know he makes personal attacks. Whoopde-doo. Most of those talking heads do. But O'Reilly consistently lies and denies his own actions. He claims he doesn't make personal attacks: he does. He claims he always lets guests speak freely: he doesn't. He claims he's never cut off a mic or told a guest to 'shut up': he has, many time.He claims it's illegal to make mean remarks on his radio program: it's not.
3/27/2006 8:25:02 AM
Why do you guys even watch that show?
3/27/2006 9:34:13 AM
i doubt many people on here do (i for one, have never purposefully watched an episode of the Factor, or any other show on Fox News, for that matter), it's just fun to take bits and pieces of the show that make him look like a jackass. And unfortunately, there are apparently millions of people that do watch that show to help form their own opinions....
3/27/2006 9:44:06 AM
3/27/2006 1:43:05 PM
unfortunately, tww doesnt represent most of americathere still are plenty of people who take his word as truth, and there still are many people who believe we're fighting osama in iraq
3/27/2006 3:12:41 PM
3/27/2006 5:21:35 PM
^you havent seen the same shows i have i guess.
3/27/2006 6:14:55 PM
He has never and will never claim he lets his guests speak freely, hence the "no spin zone". The whole premise of his show is to get answers out of people. Watch Larry King one night when any political figure is on and they will say the same things over and over and over. It just gets boring. I've seen him cut peoples mics several times, and every time its been someone who keeps rambling on and dosent give the other guest time to speak or dosent let Oreilly ask other questions and keeps jumping back to previous questions.
3/27/2006 8:11:33 PM
I am embarassed for bigun20.
3/27/2006 8:17:29 PM
hahahaha ya dont watch tha show do ya.
3/27/2006 8:24:03 PM
^^ Why, because you dont follow the whole premise of the show to begin with? Its not that hard of a concept to grasp, even you should be able to follow along....
3/27/2006 8:41:43 PM
SOMETIMES....JUST SOMETIMES those ppl rambling off the same things are actually right and he just makes some absurd assertion or asks a dumb question that really can only be answered by repeating one's self.
3/27/2006 8:45:45 PM
sigh
3/28/2006 7:05:42 PM
i hope you are sighing at him and not agreeing. your form makes it unknown.
3/28/2006 7:09:32 PM
Yeah, one of the sighs needs to be removed if it's sighing AT him.Otherwise, it looks like your sighing about having to repeat the "truth."
3/28/2006 7:42:26 PM
and most of the people that slam Oreilly are huge fans of Al Franken, he is the political opposite of OReilly or worse you love the ex-Sportscenter Anchor Keith Olbermann.
3/28/2006 8:31:09 PM
there are two sighs because it deserved multiple sighs. that view is just so al franken does not equal o'reilly.i used to listen to al franken and he was PROUD of, and freely admitted insulting o'reilly and friends. the problem i have with o'reilly is not one of conservative vs liberal. its that he says "we are here to tell the truth with no spin" and then proceeds to lie and prevent guests that disagree with him from speaking. if you said the sky was blue and he said it was green and you held up a picture of a blue sky he would cut to commercial.
3/28/2006 9:42:46 PM
when he asks a guest what color the sky is, and the guest proceeds to answer him with "Well, the sky is up in the air, and the grass is on the ground, and trees are pretty, etc" He cuts them off. Because they dance around his original question he interrupts them. Like bigun said, simple concept to grasp. He lets people offer their own opinion, but if they're wrong, he grills them, instead of letting them rant on and on about how the govt did blow up the NO levees or something absurd like that.
3/28/2006 11:25:02 PM
...how many times has your situation happened? because every time i watch it they answer his question and if they disagree with his position they are told "you are wrong" and he ends the conversation.unless he is talking to prominent republicans. then he gets on his knees and goes to town.[Edited on March 29, 2006 at 9:02 AM. Reason : made sentence better]
3/29/2006 9:02:19 AM
I watch his asshattery every now and then just to get a good laugh. The dominant feature I have found about him is that he likes to cloak himself in the American flag and condemn anyone who doesn't follow his veiw on a subject as "Un-American".A pretty sad and sorry existance.
3/29/2006 9:20:59 AM
I wasnt even trying to defend O'reilly. I was commenting about the fact that he will NEVER say he lets his guests speak freely and he will NEVER say he has not cut peoples mics. agentlion was trying to claim Bill has made these statements and the rest you obviously agree because you didnt call agentlion out on it. The whole premise of Bill's show is the exact opposite what agentlion was claiming. If you cant acknowledge that then you are truly a closed minded individual blinded by ideological nonsense.
3/29/2006 10:38:05 PM
Calling someone a coward is NOT a personal attack. You're missing this use of the term personal. An attack calling someone a coward because of political actions that were cowardly is not a personal attack. Calling them a coward because they got scared at a Haunted House IS a personal attack. In the sense politicans use the term, personal attacks consists of insults launched based on private life rather than political life.
3/29/2006 11:02:57 PM
3/29/2006 11:04:25 PM
So calling Bin Ladin a terrorist is a personal attack but telling him he has "terrorist actions" is not?And I'm the one in the pretzel?
3/30/2006 12:00:10 AM
the biggest problem here is how we define a cowardly act.blowing yourself up to kill a bunch of people, im sad to say, is not cowardly.questioning the president during a time of war is not cowardly.saying that spending more time in iraq will do more harm than good and will cost the lives of american toops for no purpose other than the ego of a few people in washington is cowardly.bill o'reilly is an idiot, a jackass and a flat out liar.
