So I want to get a couple of these wood/iron clubs to play around with, but don't want to drop a shitton of $ as I'm not THAT good at golf. I'll probably buy used off of ebay. Which ones should I get? I was looking at the Taylor Mades but those bastards are expensive. Any other good brands for hybrids?

http://www.gigagolf.com/you can get knockoffs of the real thing at a fraction of the cost. They tell you which club a given knockoff is equivalent to.

even though the taylormades are expensive, they are well worth it, i've replaced my 2-5 irons with the rescue mid hybrid clubs, and i love them, i wish the short irons came as hybrid clubs...

I wish golf was like riding a bicycle.

I am carrying a Hogan 2-iron hybrid. Its fairly nice. Like Bobby said the knockoffs really are just as good as the real thing. Just get one that feels comfortable for you. The main thing with them is to hit them like an iron. I try and sweep them too much and hit it like a wood. Its suppossed to be like an iron thats easy to hit.

Check out the Nickent Genex Hybrid...it's the leading hybrid on the Nationwide Tour and they're pretty cheap..like $80 for a steel shaft, $100 for graphite.

Knockoffs aren't a bad option if you don't mind playing them, and they are pretty much equivalent, although I never really trust knock off woods.www.pinemeadowgolf.com makes some good ones. I've got a couple of their wedges. Try the Nike knockoff, they are really easy to hit.I've got a true PING G5 Hybrid, and although it was expensive, it was worth every penny.
