Purchased just before xmas, very few shots taken with it (less then 1,000), perfect condition. 4 years of accidental damage coverage from Circuit City (full transferable to buyer, cost me almost 300 bucks). Comes with 18-55mm kit lens.$950.

Nothing, eh?
3/25/2006 5:21:38 PM
probably because you're asking for about $300 more than it's worth.

950? I got a D70 for 700 off ebay right before Christmas but it didn't have a warranty.
3/26/2006 11:22:22 AM
They are retailing for 900 new. Add a 300 dolla warranty to that, and consider I bought it 3 months ago, 950 is not unreasonable.
3/26/2006 12:53:00 PM
^i agreethe camera can get had for like 650 w/o a lens, but thats a nice warrenty and the lens so its not a bad deal
3/26/2006 1:27:28 PM
You're a fool if you pay $300 for a warranty on a $700 device.
3/26/2006 2:29:33 PM
not to burst your bubble ronny, butBH Photo has it for $850 with a 2gb CF cardZipzoomfly has it for $800 and free shippingAs for the warranty, you can get 2 yr warranties from Mack camera, usable worldwide, for $59.95 from numerous sources.

The warranty covers accidents. It is not a standard warranty. It is a full replacement warranty. Drop it, break it, smash it, spill on it, anything within the next 4 years and you'll get it replaced at no cost. I bought the warranty for peace of mind, because I wouldn't be able to afford to replace it if it broke.[Edited on March 26, 2006 at 3:03 PM. Reason : .]

^actually take care of an expensive piece of equipment like that, and you wont need the $300 warranty.
3/26/2006 3:11:23 PM
a good rule of thumb: if you cant afford to replace it if it breaks, you don't buy it.but that aside, you're asking way too much for it
3/26/2006 3:12:02 PM
I take plenty good care of my stuff, but that doesn't mean accidents don't happen. I'm pretty sure you drive normal, and don't plan on getting in an accident, but I'd bet you have insurance on your car. (I know they are different situations, but still)I don't think asking 950 for something I piad about 1200 bucks for 3 months ago is a bad deal. I've got the original box and even then bubble wrap. I should have known not to even take this to TWW.
3/26/2006 4:17:24 PM
you won't get that price on ebay even
3/26/2006 4:54:41 PM
I had an insurance policy a few years ago for ~$1500 in photo equipment, covered accidental breakage, wear and tear stuff, theft, etc. It was ~$30 a year.
3/26/2006 5:23:17 PM
If you change your mind about the price, let me know because I'm in the market for this exact camera, but anything above about 600 bucks is totally unrealistic for TWW.
3/26/2006 5:24:10 PM
You're not going to get that camera and a lens and a warranty for $600 on this or any other site. Maybe in six months, but not now.
3/26/2006 6:09:10 PM
Question, if you bought an expensive camera like that, even put a lot of money into a nice warranty, then WHY are you selling it? Especially on tdub?
3/26/2006 6:53:21 PM
Dude, just because you got ripped the hell off on a 300 dollar warranty, does not make the camera WORTH that.As someone else posted, insurance coverage or extended full coverage warranties can be had from several places for under 40 dollars a year. Buying that shit from any retail store is just stupid. And the camera has been out for more than 3 months, that would be like saying, dude I bought an Atari 2600 3 months ago, it's like brand new.
3/26/2006 7:29:27 PM
^^Trying to upgrade.^Please show me where I can get accident insurance for 40 dollars a year, because I am definitely going to buy my next camera from there. Also, the warranty was not 300 dollars. I forget exactly how much it was, so I was estimating. I understand no one wants to buy it, so [/thread][Edited on March 26, 2006 at 8:07 PM. Reason : .]

mack camera warranties are a total rip off! I had one w/ a digital cam corder, and they had my cam for 3 months and wouldn't answer the phone![Edited on March 27, 2006 at 4:06 PM. Reason : ....]

I'll seriously do $350
