i'm still clinging to outlook for the calendar integration

i'm definitely going to wait til at least a few decent versions of lightning come out before i switch over.

i just saw these screenshots: http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/slideshow.php?release=599&slide=1
thinking about trying it out if i get the time.

they're not but i'm damn sick of this pst format for shit

i can't even use services i want to use because they have to have a sync app written for outlook. iCal syncing is everywhere now though.

on top of that, i can see someone writing the smart input box extension for this calendar relatively quicker than the next version of outlook coming out.

also there are a bunch of productivity apps for outlook that you have to pay for - they make e-mail handling a little quicker by giving you options of delegating, scheduling, etc. - and i can see those as extensions for thunderbird too, whereas they will never be built in to outlook and i don't really feel like paying for it. i'd rather just spend the extra time.

You should setup a domino server and then you can customize your notes mail database to do all kinds of cool stuff and...

what do you mean by delegating and scheduling, you can assign tasks with outlook

or are you talking more stuff like what microsoft project does?

^ just one example is speedfiler: http://www.claritude.com/

oh yeah and the other reason i haven't switched is because i want a better way to search my mail. right now, google desktop sucks for indexing mail that is archived in outlook - i have so many broken links in my index. so i have to use LookOut from microsoft. if thunderbird has a good search, then i'm gone.
