This is a show that I organized, which is why no generic metalcore bands are playing. The lineup is as follows:GIANT - GREENSBORO'S SLUDGIEST METAL BAND EVER AND RISING STARS (for fans of Isis, Cult of Luna, etc.) http://www.myspace.com/giantnc COLUMNS - THE QUEEN CITY'S BEST UP AND COMING DEATH/GRIND/THRASH BAND; FEATURING ADAM CODY OF GLASS CASKET! (formerly known as Monument, extremely technical)http://www.myspace.com/columnsmusicCLOACAL KISS - EXPERIMENTAL DEATH GRIND STRAIGHT OF RALEIGH, EX-SAWTOOTH GRIN! (for fans of Sawtooth Grin...one of a kind vocals, I promise you that)http://www.myspace.com/cloacalkissHELL OR HIGH WATER - CHARLOTTE'S OWN AND ONLY INSTRUMENTAL METAL MASTERS ALA DYSRHYTHMIA http://www.myspace.com/hellorfloodpantsStarts at 7Shit's only $5! and FREE with UNCC IDLocated on UNCC's campus @ The Rathskeller (just below RDH)9201 University City Blvd.Charlotte, NC 28223If you live in Charlotte, I you had BETTER be here for this. If you live elsewhere, it will be worth the drive to see some new bands and I PROMISE you these bands are about to get huge so see them for $5 while you can. I think this is a really interesting mix of bands, since none of them sound alike at all, at least to me. Something for everyone![Edited on March 23, 2006 at 12:04 PM. this is a great line up dude.I've been trying to get Giant into Raleigh for a hot minute now, but the logistics never work out. I want to say that they are playing on campus in April though?I'll try and find a ride from Raleigh.

awesome dude, I really hope you can make it outI am really excited for this show, and the club that set this up at UNCC, called 318, is planning bigger shows in the fall because we have huge grants coming from the University allotted to these shows. So, be on the lookout for bigger and better things. Let me know if you need to know anything else about the show, the location, etc. I live right by the campus, so even if you need a floor to crash on, I can oblige.

if I can make it out, depending on how I get there, a floor to crash on would rule haha.

kidna sucks that you two are the only two posting in this threadwith that being said, Giant isnt that bad even tho i fuckin hate Isis and Cult of Luna. I didnt listen to the other bands. And if I still lived in Concord I would go but I dont and im not driving down there to see this.

giant is good in their own right, but will always have the heavy comparison to isis and cult of luna which I think hinders them. however, they play worth while shows, already giving them an advantage by association (aka btbam).I've wanted to see Jake's band Columns for awhile, and Cloacal Kiss is great, however I am not totally sold on the singing style yet. the lows were great, but the highs were almost unbearable to listen to when they played the brewery. it did not sound like the recorded version at all.plus making new friends in charlotte rules.ps: I totally thought this show was tommorow, and it is not. it is next friday, and I definitely have to work. I must change shifts with somebody. woe is me. the story of my life.

sweetstill gonna be going on after 10? I'll need to put my... vintage UNCC ID to good use
3/24/2006 2:47:21 AM
if you come after 10 you will still catch Giant, but the show has to end kinda earlycome out anyway though, since you have a free pass

damn nick i hate that you live in charlotte now. Uncc is really lame and charlotte is one of nc's worst fucking cities. i would come but i have to drive, i hate gas prices, and i hate charlotte.

I don't really understand the vendetta that you have, but that's cool. I can completely understand not driving from Raleigh, I just wanted to see if I could maybe get one or two people from there to come out.I miss Raleigh though, there is no doubt. I have like 10 times as many good friends here though, so I think it's better for me at this point. There is also much more opportunity on the job front for me.Anyway, you could always hitch a ride!
