Here's my criteria, after all I am the one making the bet. This bet is only valid for the first three people that post here and accept my challenge, and obviously nothing will be paid out until NCSU basketball begins for the 2006-07 season. I bet $15 that Brackman will not start any of the first ten games of next season. Upon completion of the tenth game of the season, the winner will PM the loser the mailing address for a check/money order for the sum of $15. This is a gentlemen's bet, and I intend to follow through if I lose, and I expect the same out of you.

he would be an absolute idiot to come back. no future in basketball and the team has no future, anyway
3/19/2006 8:26:19 PM
i bet 15 you're right
3/19/2006 8:31:19 PM
he wont be on the team[Edited on March 19, 2006 at 8:33 PM. Reason : 2]
3/19/2006 8:32:12 PM
wtf, where'd all the people go that were saying that he'll be back in the other threads???
3/19/2006 8:32:31 PM
those peopel are idiots
3/19/2006 8:33:15 PM
how can one of our most versatile players only get a combined 22 minutes in the last 3 games? i know he had a down year and didn't play like everyone thought he would, but it's hard to do when you don't get a lot of minutes. god i hope we saw him play his last basketball game and see him help the baseball team get even better.
3/19/2006 8:33:20 PM
i said he'd be gone back in january
3/19/2006 8:33:21 PM
He'll go back down to his baseball weight and start to dominate again.
3/19/2006 8:35:53 PM
i think he's said that baseball is his favorite sport too. if he has a dominant year this year it wouldn't make much since to play basketball next year. he should focus on getting his stock as high as possible for the mlb draft.
3/19/2006 8:36:23 PM
Compared to last year, brack was a HUGE disappointment, biggest on the team if you ask me.
3/19/2006 8:39:08 PM
yeah he basically pulled a TA McClendonI'm surprised, no takers huh? I mean it's only $15. Well I gotta go study now, this offer is valid for the rest of the night. I'll check the thread later.
3/19/2006 8:42:38 PM
ahahhaahow can you compare TA to brackmanTA sucked because he was a sorry ass who never workedbrackman sucked because he has been working at baseballand he's gonna be a top pickTA works at wal mart

3/20/2006 12:00:26 AM
^^woah there, read way too far into thatI simply meant on the level that both showed promise as freshman and then fizzled out. I'm not saying that Brackman is inept by any means, I'm sure he'll be a well-paid/successful pitcher in the near future.
3/20/2006 12:46:53 AM
wait a minute.the thread title says he wont come back...then the initial post says he wont start the first ten games...which is it?Also, $15 has got to be the weirdest bet amount ive ever seen... why not a standard bet like $20 or $25?[Edited on March 20, 2006 at 2:14 AM. Reason : a]
3/20/2006 2:13:42 AM
get your side of the bet straight idiot... ^he is right
3/20/2006 3:22:23 AM
So is your bet that he won't start, as stated in the body of your text, or that he won't be on the roster, as implied in your thread title? If it is that he won't be on the roster, I might take the bet, I am leaning about 50% but I think he might be back.If it is he won't start, hell no he won't start! He didn't start this season, and next year we have Costner playing his position. No one is dumb enough to take that bet.
3/20/2006 3:48:37 AM
he needs to just play baseball, concentrate on what you are good at. Brack does not play defense and hasnt really done anything on the offensive end besides a few games.you are a great pitcher, go get your extra 4 starts.
3/20/2006 9:22:32 AM
3/20/2006 9:30:31 AM
I hope not...for our team's sake.
3/20/2006 9:42:36 AM

In this article on the N&O it sounds like he is planning on returning. I personally doubt he will if he is a 1st round pick, but we'll have to see how he pitches this year...http://www.newsobserver.com/752/story/420037.html
3/20/2006 5:04:26 PM
GOOD. THANK GOD.
3/20/2006 5:08:13 PM
paging john kruk
3/20/2006 5:09:14 PM
3/20/2006 5:33:28 PM
you just wait ....
3/20/2006 5:35:54 PM
that article makes it sound like he's staying. I will say that he needs to stay if he wants to play basketball, but he has a career already playing baseball. In the long run, it might be fun to see him 2-sport it. What would be really interesting is if he could do both professionally. I don't remember ever seeing a baseball-basketball two sport pro. Michael Jordan was the only one I can remember trying it, and he failed miserably.
3/20/2006 5:37:18 PM
3/22/2006 10:25:20 AM
as much as i'd like to see him play basketball next year, if he is smart he'll stick to baseball, b/c that's where he's got the best chance to bank. he would have to drastically improve in basketball for all the time and effort to pay off, whereas he is already capable of playing baseball at a high level.
3/22/2006 11:09:06 AM
^^^HOW ABOUT BO JACKSON?FFS.
3/23/2006 9:41:16 AM
Hehe. After all, he played everything in high school.
3/23/2006 9:42:21 AM
And for the record, if you really want to know someone who excelled professionally at both sports there's always Bob Gibson.A great pitcher and former Harlem Globetrotter.
3/23/2006 9:43:23 AM
If Brackman wants to pitch, he needs to go back to his old form--he hasn't looked good at all this year.Hell, it'd make him better at basketball again too.
3/23/2006 9:45:03 AM
3/23/2006 10:17:35 AM
^^yeah...if he keeps pitching like he has been so far (not sure how he has done since the basketball season ended though) then he will probably quit baseball and stick to basketball
3/23/2006 10:38:52 AM
Someone quick.....ask Duchess.
3/23/2006 10:41:37 AM
"TA works at wal mart"speaking of TA, what is he up to these days?
3/23/2006 12:58:39 PM
probably fumbling the grocery bags of some poor customer
3/23/2006 1:04:53 PM
it really seems like that extra bulk he put on is hurting instead of helping him. Maybe it'll just take a year or so to get used to. It seems to me almost like the effects of someone's first big growth spurt during puberty. the body isn't ready for such a big, sudden change.
3/23/2006 1:36:55 PM
I'll bet $20 now
4/2/2006 10:32:08 AM
No offense, but Herb barely played Brackman. Depending on the coach, Brack might want to come back and see if he can get any PT.
4/2/2006 11:16:11 AM
brackman has a better future in baseball.i don't see why he would even bother with our basketball program now.
4/2/2006 11:17:42 AM
Ya never know. I was a better soccer player in high school...but I'd still rather play basketball. Maybe he just enjoys the sport. He's not hurting for money. He has his whole senior year to concentrate on baseball (I know you can get drafted after your junior year). I'm just saying that it's all speculation right now. Also...wasn't there an article right after we lost to Texas that mentioned Brackman saying he was going to concentrate on basketball a lot more this offseason?(oh wait...the article is higher up in the thread)[Edited on April 2, 2006 at 11:27 AM. Reason : .]
4/2/2006 11:26:56 AM
i'll bet anyone $100 that he's coming back
4/2/2006 1:56:56 PM
