I've had them since I was young, but they only seem to get darker the olde I get. Someone once told me that it's a lack of vitamin D, but I think I get enough of that.Any suggestions?...I hate wearing makeup...

Clinique has this eye cream that's called "All About Eyes" or something to that effect. It's supposed to get rid of puffiness and dark circles, or at least decrease them. It's not make-up, it's eye cream. I use it and at first I didn't really notice a difference. Then I stopped using it because I ran out (I had a free sample) and I definitely noticed that my eyes looked much worse. I hope that helps.

my dermatologist told me that if you have bad allergies they may be hard to get rid ofim living proof

i heard fresh sperm works

Yeah there are some creams you can use that are supposed to help decrease the look of dark circles, and some really do work. This site has reviews of makeup and such, maybe they have some of eye creams: http://makeupalley.com

A makeup artist suggested using something with spf since sun makes them darker, so make sure whatever you get has it. Lately I've just been massaging my day cream on them since it has spf.

Anything a dude can do? I mean sperm and cucumbers might work for women, but I've had these all my life, and they get worse with less sleep, but they're always there.

^Since when have cucumbers only been effective on humans with the XX chromasome? You can use any of these methods that have already been listed here (except sperm because that's just nasty...and way too sticky to be comfortable under the eye)

I was hoping for something of the more low-maintenance approach....like it was a vitamin defficiency or something rather than having to apply creams or vegetables to my face.
3/17/2006 10:46:23 AM
get a gel mask... stick it in the fridge and put it on for a few min each day...
3/17/2006 11:04:01 AM
Oh. Well, creams and vegetables are the only thing I know to use that would make any difference. Do you take a multivitamin? If you don't, that could help. Oil of Oley (sp?) makes a multivitamin that helps out your skin as well as gives you all of the regular vitamins that you need. You may wanna try that.

do you have really fair skin? My skin is really light and delicate and mine never really go away... I asked my dermatologist and he said it was the blood under my eyes showing through. If you get a little sun, they'll be better, but then hello premature wrinkles

They are heriditary so some won't go away with just special creams from the drugstore. Talk to your dermatologist. They can do laser and other treatments to combat them.

Sometimes allergies can cause undereye circles, even if you don't notice any other symptoms. I used to get them badly before I started taking allergy medicine. Try some claritin/loratadine maybe?

clinique "all about eyes" is great. as is their "intensive eye repair." you have to use it consistently to see results. use "all about eyes" in the morning and "intensive eye repair" at night.
3/19/2006 1:16:25 AM
thanks for all the suggestions.I think that it is hereditary... sadly I have had them since I was really really young, and having really pale skin does not help. But, I will talk to the doc if I get around to it and also try some cream in the mean time.
