Go to Harry's Guitar Shop instead - it's closer and most of the people that work there have been there for awhile and really know their stuff (unlike most guitar center employees). Plus, you'll be supporting a locally owned store and not some corporate super power.They also have a pretty decent selection of mandolins, both A and F styles (gibson, weber, michael kelly, mid missouri).

Chris T. from Nickel Creek is a cool guy, I got to jam with him when we were both teenagers in NC. He was awesome even then and now probably one of the best mandolin players around.
