Wow I guess you really proved us that we should hire Montgomery. What an argument. Nobody can make a case for all these coaches some of you want hired.

Let's see....

National Coach of the Year...twice.

Won ~70% of his games as a head coach...

In 18 seasons, he went to 12 NCAA's, a Final Four, won 4 Pac-10 titles....despite Stanford not going to postseason play for like 50 years before he got there.... not to mention one of the strictest academic schools in the nation

The type of players he could get at NC State would dwarf that of Stanford.... based on academic requirements mostly... as well as numerous other things


This is like comparing Herb to Coach K. Just don't try it. Montgomery is a great coach.

That said, Lee Fowler would never pay Montgomery what he wanted to come here.....even if we had a coaching vacancy. It will never happen...I could only wish

something fishy must have been going on there....


no way do you miraculously start getting big-time recruits and winning lots of games at an institution that puts athletics wayyyy on the back burner

i have no doubt that some SAT/ACT strings were pulled and/or some serious booster money was tossed around
