Anyone need any? I know a guy thats got 200lbs of the shit available in 6" tape.Must have 0 F freezer to store.

Oh how I wish I could use the stuff, or at least have a place to store it.But you gotta autoclave it to cure, don't you?

Correct. But hey, we have some l33t fabricators out here in tdub land that can do m4d cr4zy sh1t y0!I mean, they could make hundreds of CF shifter knobs out this shit!

You mean there are tdubbers with an autoclave?I know I don't have one. Not even a steam cabinet.

I know a guy that built his own 42' long autoclave in his backyard.

btw, this is unidirectionalmeaning you probably wouldn't want to make a car hood out of it.
3/8/2006 8:10:26 PM
Exactly...but it would be great for stringer and structural reinforcement.I don't want to make a hood out of CF; that's just ragingly homosexual.

omg my hood is strong.... ummm my aluminum one is lighter... yeah... a lil flexy but lighter.

My 32' tall mast weights 35 lbs.an identical mast in aluminum weights 68 lbs with the extrusion thickness to match stiffnesses. You could construct such an device with this tape.FYI, my mast costs upwards of $5000 a pop.

http://www.acmanet.org/You can learn a whole bunch from that link. Its not "quick" though. Really there is no "quick" reference when it comes to composites IMO.

Damn nice cat man...Thanks for the link

Thanks, This one is now a pile of spare parts and chainsawed fiberglass. This one is the one we race now with the CF mast.
