Anyone have Ayoub this semester for IE 311? That class is by far the worst i've ever taken in my whole college experience.. I did very bad on the first test, and was wondering if anyone else understands the material?

I had him last semester... terrible class but he as a person is very nice.

(I did very bad on the first test also and ended up with something decent in the end)

Honestly, I think the material itself is pretty straightforward. What we are covering in IE 311 doesn't even compare to the material I'm doing in EE in terms of difficulty. I, and I think many others, did bad on the first test simply because we didn't prepare properly. Either we didn't pay attention when he told us tips in class or he never told us or whatever. The fact is, that if we had done the homework assignments under the same conditions we would be under during a test, and if we had carefully looked at the solutions for the ones we got wrong, then the first test would not have been bad at all.

Ayoub is great. The material is boring as hell, so it's not like he has much to work with.

You're probably just dumb or lazy.

Yeah, if anybody did bad on that first test, it was because of lack of preparation. I mean, the whole test was practically old homework problems. I did mine in excel, but I didn't see what was so hard about being able to read off a table. The work in itself is incredibly easy. Understand the concepts and you're fine.

does anyone know if he posted the curved grades or the straight grades from the first test? For my section they said the highest score was a 93, the average was 50 something, and the low was 12 i think.

The first test wasnt hard at all. All you had to do was practice the Books solutions for all the homework problems.

He posted the straight grades first, then he changed them and posted the curved grades.

Depending on what section you're in, you either got a 15 or a 20 point curve.
