3/6/2006 3:16:30 PM
yeah, me and a friend of mine called that too back in December...
3/6/2006 3:19:29 PM
i think we will too. we definitely have a much better chance than most people are giving us right now.[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 3:22 PM. Reason : ]
3/6/2006 3:21:42 PM
i think our chances are diminishing bc we have shown no intensity over the past few weeks plus the fact that gavin grant is WOLFies new favorite guy bc he finally played hard. id say sweet16.
3/6/2006 3:23:35 PM
when did i ever say he was my favorite guy? i said he showed me something i hadn't seen from him before, and because of that i won't criticize him anymore for awhile.stop trolling
3/6/2006 3:24:49 PM
I had a dream back in november that we won it all. I still have that feeling that we can do it. I believe in this team, and I know that if given a FAIR chance and good health they can win it all.GO WOLFPACK!!!!
3/6/2006 3:25:32 PM
how am i trolling just bc i give my opinion on us not making it to the elite 8? quit ur bitchin
3/6/2006 3:27:28 PM
the key is how BIG Cam and Tony go off in the NCAA tourney..without them havin huge games...we are gonna be out early
3/6/2006 3:27:55 PM
Yeah Bethel CANNOT play like he did Saturday. That was pathetic. 32 minutes 0 points. Cam is gonna have to be the man this year. I say Sweet 16 before we lose to an Iowa, Illinois, someone who plays tough D.
3/6/2006 3:30:05 PM
absolutelywe need cam bad, and everyone else to be healthy

3/6/2006 4:26:52 PM
There was some dipshit near me at the UNC game kept yelling "you suck Gavin!!" and then one time gavin looked and he flipped him offyeah, thats really gonna make him feel better
3/6/2006 5:07:13 PM
we will not make the elite 8...we will meet up with a slow white team that shoots well and features a player that has the game of his fucking life and we will lose 50-45something like that...it's something dumb every year
3/7/2006 2:02:37 AM
by 'we' do you mean nc state? because if so, ill lay some money down with you. i love the pack and will pull for us all the way with everything I have, but I just dont see it happening
3/7/2006 2:36:47 AM
what will you do if we dont
3/7/2006 3:07:20 AM
i called it several weeks ago.

3/7/2006 9:47:24 AM
analyst disclosure:i don't ever bet on State games--my shame in light of an non-elite 8 appearance is punishment enoughi never lose bets on individual games--i also never win brackets (come in 2nd all the time)
3/7/2006 10:00:17 AM
Best Joke I've heard in days! Can't even break our acc conf. losing streak but will run through the ncaa tourney! Idiot computer geeks and their computers shouldn't even be allowed to type the word sports.

Assuming that Cam and Ilian get healthy, and Grant continues to play with the fury he did on Saturday, this team is (on paper) capable of hitting the Elite 8.However, to do so, we have to actually play well, which we haven't done in over a month now.Earlier in the season I had great expectations, but at this point I'm not sure we'll win another game this season. I really, really hope the team starts to pull together on Friday.
3/7/2006 10:27:43 AM
I think a win over FSU is just what the Dr. ordered.
3/7/2006 10:31:06 AM
3/7/2006 10:38:29 AM
What would help, is if we could hit a 3 pointer now and then. I dont give a damn what our percentage is in games, or if we live and die by the 3. Its not a fluke that we made it through 80 percent of the season shooting over 40% as a team. We're gonna have our bad games, but there's no excuse for the way we played these last 3 games. Point is that we should be able to hit ENOUGH 3's a game.
3/7/2006 10:43:17 AM
we will be a 5 seed and lose to a 12 seed in the first round...j/k elite 8 all the way
3/7/2006 10:58:33 AM
^ I Actually am thinking that. I'd rather be a 6 than a 5. The 5/12 matchup is ALWAYS an upset... it's just a cursed seed.
3/7/2006 11:15:24 AM
There's always a 5/12 upset. Still three others that could win.No one is safe, except for the 1/16--I think there's never been an upset there (although some have come close). We pulled off the 7/10 upset last year.

championship
3/7/2006 12:06:03 PM
but the cause of a lot of these "upsets" is that some non big 6 school wins their conference or does well playing the crappy teams they play and they end up with a reasonably good seed. Then some big 6 school gets a lower seed because they got beat up on playing a tougher schedule. So the "better team" is often the lower seed. Granted this isn't always the case.

(16) Murray State took (1) Michigan State to overtime, around 1990.
3/7/2006 12:29:42 PM
^ Interesting... didn't know that

No. 5: Georgetown 50, Princeton 49 (1989 first round)A No. 1 seed has never lost to a No. 16 seed in the history of the tourney, but the Princeton Tigers came this close 15 years ago as a 23-point underdog to the awesome Hoyas. The Tigers’ underdog status was compounded because the last four Ivy League teams to reach the NCAA Tournament were blown out by an average of 35 points in the first round. These blatant mismatches had led some to propose that the Ivy champion's bid to automatically play in the tournament be revoked. Georgetown was led by 6-foot-10 Alonzo Mourning and 7-2 Dikembe Mutmbo, both future first-round NBA draft picks. The Tigers countered with Kit Mueller, a 6-6 center, who responded with eight points and nine assists against one the great shot blockers in NCAA history. Princeton led by eight at the half and never trailed by more than two points the entire game. Mourning was held in check for most of the game, but scored seven points in the final minute, including a go-ahead free throw with 10 seconds remaining. With six seconds left, Princeton had two chances to win, but two long-range attempts were blocked by Mourning, although the Princeton bench felt Mueller was slapped on the hand and wrist by Mourning on the final shot. When asked about the questionable non-foul on the last shot, Princeton coach Pete Carril took the high road, literally. "We'll have to take that up with God, when we get there."
