I'm meeting a girl for lunch tomorrow . It's one of those "just lunch" type things. We've talked a little bit, but not much. I've never done lunch as a 1st date before, so here's my questions:

it may just be me, but flowers may be a little too much (if you want to give her flowers, you could send some to her work afterwards).

I would try to keep it somewhat casual so that both of you will feel more relaxed.

i went on a date once to peak city grill and bar for dinner...it was really nice. i would assume that it's cheaper for lunch (it was kind of pricey for dinner). the atmosphere, the service, and the food were excellent. the only other place i've eaten in apex is the mexican restaurant (=el rodeo).

people need to stop being so pinned down to rules and precedent with dates. if the two of them hit it off, it will be a first date. if not, then whatever. i think the less pressure on the situation the better. often "date" dates put far too high expectations on two people who hardly know each other. relaxed is the way to go to begin with.

How much do you know about her? Don't go the flower route. Do something like her favorite candy or something along those lines.

For lunch, I would suggest either Qdoba (a more relaxed atmosphere) or The Italian Pie (a more romantic atmosphere), depending on which you prefer. Also, if you want to take her flowers, pick some wildflowers. Seriously, girls find it sweet that you would go and pick flowers for her and plus you save $texas. I'm not talking about those ghetto ass flowers on the side of the road or anything. Go out on a walking trail or something and find some pretty flowers. Let her know you picked them and you are sure to score points.

I didn't read the thread, but I like the lunch date... an easier way to break the ice and become friends... which leads to profit. Less pressure, less risk, less cost. Go for it. It's actually my prefferred technique and upon review I believe has led to a higher success rate than the hookup, or the "real" date. Although the lunch date will lead to the real date if you're succesful. Shit, take several lunch dates, it eases the tensions, connects you to and should make you both more comfortable.

To those of you who can go to the bar and hook up with the blonde kinky chick, GG, but it's not my style.

it's just lunch, so in her mind it doesn't count as a date, so it's like a freebie for her to extend the 3rd date rule that girls have. and even though it doesn't count as a date, you're still subject to the 40$ rule, so you can't spend more than 40$ and if you spend 15$ before you even knock down the 1st date, you'll be hard pressed to figure out how to take a girl out 3 times for less than 25$.

To be honest, I have not had anything as simple as lunch with somone I don't really know since the 1st weekend I moved here, and I picked up a girl in the frame asile of wal-mart (bad idea). And a good smack in the face always helps. Thanks
