I ran into all that "over 25" bullshit a couple of years back, there really isn't any getting around it.
3/4/2006 11:46:41 PM
yeah, i was lookin at a hotel...3 nights at the Sandcastle (a pretty decent hotel) for like $110 or something. TOTAL.But if you're under 25, the student rates for the EXACT SAME ROOM is over $300[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 11:57 PM. Reason : .]

word, thanks guys. I'm gonna look into these...but also, anyone have any opinions on "Tropical Winds"? It sounds pretty nice for the money. Or at least as nice as a hotel can be for that price in Myrtle Beach, lol.
3/5/2006 12:22:32 AM
not familiar with tropical winds...address?
3/5/2006 12:26:22 AM

Well, at least I am glad to see they have changed it to an "age" requirement versus a marital status requirement. When I was your age, I couldn't get a hotel room unless I was married. Myrtle Beach is overly concerned about its party image and wants a more "family" image. However, they used to let the NC highschools down there for a senior trip and anything they did was wilder than what I would have done as a less than 25 year old single female who just wanted to go to the beach for a week and get away from NYC.Wear a gold band on your left hand- maybe it will get you past the age requirement.

haha, i'll definately be on the lookout. I've never heard of that though, and I actually spent a week at the Sandcastle when i was in highschool for spring break. I was just dumb enough to pay the highly inflated "student rates".
3/5/2006 11:20:09 AM
weird i booked 3 hotels in canada with no problem at 21.hmm maybe because they are all in shape educated white folk
3/5/2006 12:33:30 PM

3/5/2006 12:58:56 PM
get someone who is 25 to put it down on their credit card, and then just pay them back for it
3/5/2006 2:14:36 PM
Yeah, we had an adult go and check in the room for us when were still in high school, it's not impossible to get around by any means.
3/5/2006 2:15:43 PM
3/5/2006 2:53:31 PM
yeah, i'm not having a problem w/ the 25 thing anymore...i found quite a few hotels. Now the question is finding one cheap enough that's oceanfront
3/5/2006 5:45:26 PM
drink heavily for me. i need to live vicariously through someone this spring break as i unfortunately have to work. bleh.
