this does not bode welland nothing more than is wrong with christianity, repub. I think its followers are sick of being fucked with... nto that that's any sort of excuse. it IS a reason.christians don't need to be reactionary; they run shit.[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 10:59 AM. Reason : .]

they meant the muslim community at unc
3/4/2006 11:13:36 AM
Yes, I realize that. However, Taheriazar is certainly emulating others of his faith. Don't nuts follow other nuts?

^^Christians have killed in the "name of god" and other bullshit too. Every religion has people who take things way too far and misinterpret shit. In fact, many people that I've spoken with have indicated to me that a "Jihad" or whatever is a war within yourself. I don't think the religion is specifically set up to want to commit terrorist acts or some shit, jesus christ.Incidentally, did you guys see that faggot smiling about it on the news? Seeking retribution by trying to kill 18 year old girls and shit is truly pathetic btw.[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 11:36 AM. Reason : ]

I agree with you wholeheartedly--I didn't say nuts were limited to any particular religion. But to imply that this guy is operating independently is absurd. That and

Of course Christianity and many other religions have done similar things in the past. But bringing up the Crusades and the Inquisition as good examples of Catholicisms' terror-like performance is moot. Please keep things to the last 150 years when we compare things. At the moment, whether true followers or not, the "insano crazy religion award" goes to Islam.
3/4/2006 12:47:52 PM
hey guys didn't you hear, because christians have and occasionally still do kill people in the name of their religion its ok for other religions to do the samei mean c'mon guys, thats just how it worksyou all are christians, so you aren't allowed to criticize anyone that kills people in the name of their religion. to do so would be hypocritical.duh
3/4/2006 12:53:09 PM
Oh yeah. I forgot.
3/4/2006 12:54:55 PM
^^ I'm not sure if that was in reference to what I said, but my statement was pointing out the fact that it isn't limited to one religion. They are all crazy.
3/4/2006 1:35:41 PM
I dunno, dudes. I keep trying to understand, but come on...it's pretty fucking violent.

honestly I can't remember the last time a christian blew up muslims by strapping himself with c4 and blowing himself up in a mall or restaurant.
3/4/2006 3:23:12 PM
I don't doubt that this website may be innaccurate in some regards (I mean I got it from a google search), but I'd say there definitely are (and have been) christians engaged in killing for their religion or god or culture. I know for a fact that it has happened in ireland, and the list on this website probably has at least some truth to it.http://www.religioustolerance.org/curr_war.htmThe only reason I'm really even commenting is because I think claims like this:
3/4/2006 3:40:25 PM
^When can we say that "Islam is a violent religion"? How much bullshit has to go down before we can maybe consider the idea that Islam was founded in violence and still carries that with it today?I'm not going to come out and say it because I don't feel comfortable sharing my uneducated perspective in this case. It's really starting to look bad though. Especially to folks like me who really don't know much about Islam.I understand the stuff about how a lot of the violence is done by extremists, but what if there are more extremists than "regular" worshippers?[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 3:51 PM. i don't care how liberal i geti'm never going to understand treating islam with kid glovesand i'm pretty fucking liberal
3/4/2006 3:58:19 PM
i dont think its a logical stretch to say that some religions are violent, and some are peaceful.all you have to do is study the teachings and the texts.....i dont see an shinto or buddhists suicide bombers, same with hinduism, their religous leaders never advocated violence.[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 4:35 PM. Im just trying to suggest that this guy was pissed at the newspaper, though he hasnt stated it, it just seems likely.
3/4/2006 7:14:53 PM
^^^Yeah, and the cartoons that were published in the Daily Tar Heel were supposedly not meant to be hardcore offensive the way the other ones were.^Not that it proves or disproves your assumption...the dude wasn't involved in the Muslim student group, and he did not attend the sit-in. This guy appears to be angry about a lot of things.[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 7:17 PM. Reason : sss]
