Thinking about moving out to University Commons next year, and I was wondering if you guys know anything about the place. I already searched previous posts, and there isn't a whole lot of information about it.

Part of the parking lot used to flood.

I lived there for a year, no major problems to report.it was great being on the wolfline and the price wasn't bad at all ($365 for rent, cable, internet, water, power).

I absolutely hated living there.. living on the first floor sucked because we had monster jumping spiders in our apt year round (YUCK). Plus the seals and weather stripping on the doors and windows sucked so we had mold growing in the windows and that area, plus every living creature that felt like coming inside when i rained just crawled under the door. Nothing was really done about it. You can get a way better place for that kind of money (i'm assuming you're splitting it with roommates). Ditto about the flooding parking lot, and parking is a bitch if you have any friends over b/c they use parking passes and you dont get but one or two guest passes (we only got one).

well, i lived on the second floor and had no problems with bugs. I guess it could also deal with which building you lived in (I lived in the back left building).no problem with parking, we used to have tons of people over and they never used parking passes (even when staying for the entire weekend).

YES, the have permit parkingNO they do not enforce itYes, most of the buildings are done via a leasing companyHowever building 1521 is more or less all privately owned/rented apartments, with some still for sale for around 110k.WE have a private landlord, got an unfurnished apartment, and pay all utilities other than water ourselves. Its 1100 a month rent for this 4 bed/4 bath, which is nto bad.He ( the landlord) allows us to paint the apartment, whatever and was even willing to pay for the paint out of his pocket when we wanted to change the color of the kitchen, ect.I have not seen any bug problems since a (now dealt with) ant problem with a colony right outside the door. The only BIG disadvantage is that if you live close to campus, you have to go uphill if you walk or bike, and on weekends, due tot he no permit enforcement, you may have to park down near the creek as all the nearbye spots get grabbed by visitors. Hell, i have called the tow company before due to all the up clsoe spots being full of visitors, and they will NOT come out there.
