Your being extremely vague ... we can't help you if you don't provide some more information first.-How much ram do you have / what are you general system specs? (Look up your Dell Service Tag on your computer ... it should be physically on the computer somewhere; then go to dell.com).-Has your computer always run slow? If not, when did it start?-Have you run any spyware scans?-Is there anything odd coming out of a HiJackThis scan?-What Operating System are you running?Etc. Etc.[Edited on March 3, 2006 at 5:37 AM. check for spyware, use ctrl-alt-delete to see how many processes you have running.
3/3/2006 10:32:42 AM
yeh go ahead shoot ur hdd, then shoot ur self. jkyour prob running too many processes and ur intel is craping out w/ too much stuff to handle and video is on the botton of the priority list. close some stuff out and then try again, do virus scan and spyware scan. that might help.if not then back up ur shit and reformat and then stop d/l p0rn

Update your antivirus and spyware programsturn off System restoreedit msconfig (start -> run -> msconfig) to only the startup applications you needreboot into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly at boot until you get menu screen, then boot into Safe Mode).run virus scan and make sure everything found is either quarantined or deleted. If it's quarantined, go in and delete it manually after the scan is finished. After antivirus scan use your spyware programs (Adaware SE, MS Antispy, Spybot, etc). Reboot and see if things are any better. If you are a big AIM user then download the latest AimFix (http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm and run it also.[Edited on March 3, 2006 at 4:02 PM. ^ stick to AdAware and Spybot S&D
3/5/2006 12:59:56 PM
first of all with win xp you are gonna need 512mb of ram to run it wellif that doenst completely fix it then...second, hit ctrl-alt-del, hit the performance tab, if the cpu usage is always 100% then you've got a bad process that's slowing your computer downif so go to run, msconfig like someone mentioned ^^^^^ ago, go to start up and unclick all things that you dont need, find someone who knows what they're doing to do a remote assistance and your problem will be solved
3/5/2006 1:00:52 PM
^ indeed. And yes, if you have less than 512 MB of RAM, little can be done for you.
3/5/2006 1:07:17 PM
Throw in another stick of 256 MB ram. You can easily get one for < $20

Answer the questions in my previos post if you want some help from us. Otherwise, pay somebody $20 to take one hour to fix it.[Edited on March 5, 2006 at 1:58 PM. Reason : Dammit, thats twice now my grammar/spelling has sucked. ]

I haven't had much time to mess with it..-How much ram do you have / what are you general system specs? (Look up your Dell Service Tag on your computer ... it should be physically on the computer somewhere; then go to dell.com).dell dimension 4600pentium 4 cpu 2.80ghz2.79 ghz hd256 mb ram-Has your computer always run slow? If not, when did it start? It started beginning of this week. It's not real slow but just a little bit. Video kind of stops and goes some-Have you run any spyware scans? I did today.. zerospywhere. I quartanined what I found. I ran my virus scan when I noticed it and it didn't find anything. This was like around Tuesday of this past week.-Is there anything odd coming out of a HiJackThis scan? No-What Operating System are you running? Windows xp
