I am going i think, don't know where the seats are
3/2/2006 1:20:59 PM
Any State fans in the upper level should come over to the student section side. I'm sure it'll be mostly empty, and we can try to drown out the Wake kids below.

Wake's LJVM Coliseum is a pretty nice venue. It opened in 1989. The sightlines from the upper deck are good, but the score/videoboard seemed a little small to me. Maybe I'm just too used to the huge one at the RBC Center. One thing I couldn't understand was why the upper deck seats were green and the lower deck seats were black. It was easy to get to the upper deck. The design was kind of like the old Charlotte Coliseum were there is one large concourse and to get to the lower deck you walk straight out into it, and there are a set of steps right beside the lower deck entrance to get to the upper deck. The design of the arena interior reminded me of the layout of the Breslin Center. Both have retractable seats in the first half/third of the lower bowl. Both opened in 1989. And both have comparable seating capacities; Lawerence-Joel Memorial Coliseum - 14,407, Breslin Center - 14,992. I should note that the Breslin Center has bleacher seats in the retractable part of the lower part (this is where the student sit aka The Izzone) and I believe there are some bleacher seat in the upper portions of the upper deck as well.

the video board looked like it was showing replays instead of a live feedof the three away venues i went to this season, i liked Cassel Coliseum the best...i didn't think i would, but it's not like your everyday arena/coliseum

the scoreboard sucked ass compared to the new Charlotte Bobcats Arena scoreboard...and the fans were gay, but I guess that doesnt have anything to do with the stadium

I went to Littlejohn, Cassell, and LJVM this year. I sat right on a row behind Frank Beamer in the faculty section. I liked the atmosphere at Cassell the best. The Hokie fans were kind and knew the game. They congradulated us on our win and said our team was good. They were asking me about Herb and why some fans wanted him fired. Littlejohn only got loud at the end of regulation and the 1st overtime and their student section sucked.Wake was on spring break and cannot be compared. Their scoreboard did suck and I think they were showing replays on it. I couldnt hardly read it from the upper level.

The crowd at Joel was terrible. Wake fans weren't there, not only because of spring break, but also because they suck, and I didn't see the State turnout I expected (probably because we suck lately too).Joel was a fun environment last year...this year, it's just crap. At least there still isn't a bad seat in the house.

the crowd is always terrible there. i made fun of it the whole game. i just kept thinking about how loud it would be in the RBC center at certain points in the game if the situation were reversed (us winning at our house)
