I have an opportunity with this firm. Anybody have any experience with them or any hear-say on the company?

I have worked with them in the past. One aspect of their business is personal and group insurance. If you are getting into the insurance business, this isn't a bad start. Most of their book of business is in the 1-100 subscriber market on the group side. Most of the brokers I know there are older, well-polished sales people.

There is a lot of money to be made in this industry if you are an insurance broker. Getting started is very difficult, so experience in this kind of a firm is crucial if you have any interest in hanging out your own shingle someday. If this is the market you are looking to get into you better be able to build good relationships with clients, say the right thing at the right time, and be willing to learn everything you can about the insurance industry on your own.

Hope this helps.

i was looking more at the securities (stocks, mutual funds, etc) than the insurance......is this a good place to look? can this springboard to major brokerage firms?
