also to boost his bacteria so he doesn't have to wait as long for the colony to grow
2/26/2006 7:17:54 PM
Why don't you just go to any fish store and buy all premade RO water??
2/26/2006 7:59:52 PM
Dechlorinated tap water and the minerals in it is all you need for mostly all fw fish and if you want bacteria get "cycle" or "bio-spira". Why risk diseases and parasites from used aquarium water. There should be no chemicals in the water at all. [Edited on February 26, 2006 at 8:49 PM. Reason : a]

I've got freshwater too if you still need it.
2/27/2006 7:02:50 PM
little to no bacteria is in the water. you'd be much better off trying to find a pound or so of gravel from a cycled aquarium and putting it in the new tank.
2/28/2006 1:55:01 AM
freshwater. what size tank? I might be able to fill it on my next water change
