started with the check engine light coming on at the beginning of the week... ive been ridiculously busy so i thought id wait until saturday to take it in when i have free time... then today all of a sudden my clutch starts acting up, first by kind of "sticking" after being pressed in to switch gears, and then eventually sticking all the way down to the point where I can press in the clutch with one pinky finger. Now it won't start bc I can't get it in gear, bc my clutch isn't responding... but i didn't smell anything so i don't believe that the clutch is burned out. I don't know enough about trucks to make a well informed decision so please, if anyone does... HELP!

check the clutch fluid, you may be able to refill it and pump it up enough to get it over to a shop.

Good call Joel, Sounds like the slave gave up. I dont think that has anything to do with the check engine light though

def. hydraulic failure in the clutch system somewhere. master cylinders typically go first on these. could be a hole in the line too. slaves usually hold up pretty well on them. put some fluid in if it's empty, pump the clutch and look for any visible leak. with the quickness it happened, i'd be leaning torwards a leak somewhere. def. nothing to do with the check engine light though.

that era 22re has a dead simple injection system... there's not but a few things that can trip the CEL. even at that, it's pretty damn rare that it's anything that'll actually affect performance.
