^ already looked through there. Besides not being specific, as I'm not familiar with the businesses around here, there wasn't a lot mentioned.

"Thyme For Tea - flea market @ the fairgrounds

and southern seasons was mentioned so I guess I'm going to do a search for that

and I was actually going to PM you and ask you where you got all yours

What is Nishi? Do you mean Rishi?

P.S. You won't find much searching for "Southern Seasons." The name of the place is A Southern Season. You can find them at 201 South Estes Drive in Chapel Hill.

Well, let's first identify what kind of tea my man is after. Some places only do certain varieties well.

^^ i was at world market this weekend (cary location) and their selection of loose tea was pretty sparse

there was some brand that comes in maybe a 6 oz tin and the prices were between $9-$15 for maybe 6 varieties

they did have some genmai cha, i was surprised about that

excellent, this is the info I'm looking for

FroshKiller - I did mean Rishi, and thanks for the address

I'm just starting to get into loose tea, so I'm interested in all varieties. wasn't aware of how much better it was, even though my parents are heavy tea drinkers. I haven't tried much, so I'm also open to suggestions. I've gotten some organic earl grey (huge inprovement over the twinings bags I had), and some rose melange white, excellent as well. I had some Tazo "awake" bags, didn't like them too much. Interested in gunpowder tea.

thanks

Any Indian grocery store should carry loose tea. Ones from Assam/Darjeeling make some goooood chai.

There is a Japanese grocery store at the corner of chatham and maynard in Cary (as you're just entering cary from western blvd). They have a whole tea aisle with loose teas and bagged teas. They are yummy!!!
