new price: $199starting bid: $50high definition 3D audio, dolby digital and all that surround sound stuff, remote control (supposed to be fantastic, but i've never used it), all kinds of connectivity, gold everywhere, a crapload of software, due to all the groundbreaking technologies when this soundcard premiered, it is still one of the best soundcards today...i bought it brand new about 4 years ago. it still works fine. i still have the orignal box, manuals, and probably about 95% of everything that came with it. only thing that may be missing might be a cable or something that 99% of you don't need, or something else trivial like that.this soundcard is still top-notch. for example: cd quality is 16bits/44.1KHz, but the audigy platinum can produce 24bits/96KHz quality (a first when the soundcard premiered).http://www.guru3d.com/review/creative/audigy/the internal soundcard:Internal Audigy Drive Front Panel Connectors PCM SPDIF In and Out (RCA/Coaxial Jack) Headphone Out (1/4" Stereo Jack with Volume Control) Line In 2 (1/4" Stereo Jack, shared with Microphone In 2) Microphone In 2 (1/4" Jack with Gain control) MIDI In (mini DIN) MIDI Out (mini DIN) SB1394 port Infra-red Receiver Optical SPDIF In and Out Stereo Auxiliary In (2 x RCA/Coaxial Jack) All are gold plated, with the exception of the optical, where photons don’t know much about electrical friction.32-bit Professional Quality Effects Engine Creative's Audigy™ patented effects processor Support for real-time digital effects like reverb, chorus, normalizer, pitch shifter, or distortion across any audio source Capable of processing, mixing, and positioning audio streams using up to 131 available hardware channels Full 32-bit digital mixer maintains all sound mixing in the digital domain, eliminating noise from the signal Customizable Plug-In Effects Architecture allows new audio effects to be downloaded from the Web via CreativeWare High Definition Audio Quality Playback of 64 audio channels, each with its own independent sample rate. 16-bit Analog-to-Digital conversion of analog inputs at 48kHz sample rate. 24-bit Digital-to-Analog conversion of digital sources at 48kHz to analog 5.1 speaker output 16-bit recording with sampling rates of 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, and 48kHz Supports Sony® / Philips® Digital Interface (SPDIF) format input signal of up to 24-bit/96kHz quality SPDIF output up to 24-bit resolution at selectable sampling rate of 44.1, 48, or 96kHz Low latency multi-track recording with ASIO™ support Don’t litter… just checking if you’re reading… EAX®, ADVANCED HD™, Advanced Audio and 3D Audio Technology Hardware acceleration of EAX ADVANCED HD for games User-selectable EAX ADVANCED HD music presets, pre-configurable DSP modes simulating various acoustic environments Advanced time-scaling Audio Cleanup Upgradeable 3D audio architecture for future improvements. This thing isn't $199 new. It was 4 years ago, but not now.

i believe i mentioned that, but admit that it might've not been clear.$199 new 4 years ago. i believe the audigy 2, which is 3 years old or so, still retails for ~$70 new.

^^ I see now where you netioned later on that you bought it 4 years ago. I didn't mean to hate on your thread, but I like true and clarity in my advertising. This is a good card by the way. How's the XP driver support?
