http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/18/AR2006021801389.htmlInteresting article on some recent occurances in China in which the government didn't manage to stop the force of free press quite well enough.Four pages, but it's a good read.I imagine if things continued at this rate, the internet would end up being China's political undoing.

very interesting readI seriously think that the internet, coupled with a growing number of chinese educated in the US, will lead to the end of the communist regime in China in the next 10-20 yearsI think its time to learn to speak/write madirin (sp)

I don't think it will come to an "end"I suspect it will merely stop it from trying certain things such as censorship. While people often rebel against poorly run authoritarian states, I suspect a well-run authoritarian state as exists in China should be capable of surviving a little freedom.

communism is a western conceptif the Chinese were to label themselves without the Marxist baggage, i think they would call themselves a "Neo-Confucian Meritocracy"
