My GF drives a toyota Camry. She's been taking it to the dealer but I hate that place. Does anyone know of an honest competent shop around raleigh/cary?

Happy Jap's off of Johnson St (over behind Woody's on Chapel Hill Rd) in Cary. 467-2884. Tell'em Superfly sent you, then duck.Of course, I do quite a bit Camry-wise. They're one of my favorite cars to work on.

Thanks! As for why I hate them.... have you ever paid 130.00 for an oil change and airfilter change? Oh and they're dickheads too.

i get my oil changed at greenville toyota for 17 bucks. u can barely do it urself for that much. i mean of course theyve tried to do dumb shit, but just tell them no. its not hard ot not get ripped off. hell they even do shit for free(small stuff) sometimes if i ask them how much and then be like what the hell it takes 5 secs.

I have used both Happy Japs and Phils Toy Store on chatham st. in cary for my Toyota. Happy Japs was okay initially Advised me to do unnecessary repairs and then decided to try Phils. Pleased with Phils Toy store who advised properly and did a good job.

Actually come to think of it, it was the other way around.I went to get a tranny flush on my 04 4runner, and the guy told me that it had a sealed tranny, and never needed to be flushed. And the reason I needed it flushed was because when I went to change the oil, I accidentally opened the tranny plug instead of the oil plug and lost a few quarts of tranny fluid before i realized what I did. b/c no one but the toyota dealer had typeIV fluid, I put typeIII in just to get it to a shop to get it all flushed. Long story short, Wayne at Phil's Toy store took care of it.

I took my (now sold) Celica to Happy Japs several times and was pretty happy with the service.-ZiP!-
2/16/2006 9:14:49 AM
haha you opened your tranny plugon my car, i'd be lucky to uncork my tranny plug with a 3 foot breaker bar

i've heard good things about Happy Jap's and Phil's Toy Store.i personally take my supra to Gary Gordon (244-1042) who works on hondas and toyotas. he does good work for cheap. he's currently rebuilding my diff.
