Is this possible? if so with what tool? All the tools i see say convert svcd->vcd, or dvd/avi to vcd/svcdmy dvd player does not play vcd, was hoping it may play svcd. if it doesn't play vcd does that mean it will not play svcd?? (samsung p341)

You wouldn't be gaining anything in terms of quality because it'll be no better than VCD. However, if it meant getting it to play in your DVD player, then more power to you.VCD is just mpeg 1 (right?). Going from mpeg to SVCD should be easy enough. As to whether or not it'll make it work on your DVD player, I kinda doubt it would if it wouldn't play VCDs, but it's worth trying I suppose.

You would probably be best using something along the lines of Ulead DVD Movie Factory (or something similar) which takes any video file and can convert it and burn it off in VCD, SVCD, or DVD formats. Then, of course, you could take your VCD and use the program to convert it.I have Ulead DVD Movie Factory, but it came with my capture card. I'm sure there are other programs that do it, and you can use Google to find all the possible ways. Here is a little article I ran across in a quick skimhttp://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1635Which includes a "freeware" section. I'm tired, so I'll leave it to you to read it and see if it helps you at all.[Edited on February 12, 2006 at 2:07 AM. Reason : Typo]

^yep thats where i got the idea to try and convert to svcd. I don't think it will work, but its worth a try (think that site is just sayin no one has proven svcd does not work).^^Thanks for the info. I think overall better solution to my problem is just convert em to DVD. I'll give that app a try.
