I'm doing an article for the Technician and I'm trying to find some serious couples who are living together. If you are interested in talking to me, PM me with your info.

if you are doing an article for the technician, then perhaps you are a reporter. In which case, I would expect you do to research prior to writing an article. Tools such as the search function can be valuable even to those of us who do not aspire to be reporters. I bet if you did a search, you would find several threads adn a whole bunch of people that do this, and have talked about it recently. THen again, you do write for the technician, so perhaps my expectations are a bit high.

When has the search function worked well enough that you could expect to get a real result?

^^^^is not living in sin b4 marriage, when marriage is illegal
Kind of sappy sounding... but I had a legitimate point to make. Heres a copy of the PM I sent.

Quote :
"I’m in the 3rd year of the relationship with my boyfriend Ted. We met when he moved into the room of a friend of mine in Bragaw, and the relationship started over cheese sandwiches, hot chocolate, and a late night of watching cartoons in Bragaw Activity Room.

Our personalities went together well so we hung out a lot. NCSU’s policies make it a lot easier for same sex visitors to stay over, so we got a kind of crash course on being roommates. We decided to take classes over the summer together as roommates and continued to be roommates several semesters in a row after that. Having this kind of personal experience from living together, with only having commitment levels of a roommate made for an easy low pressure way of getting to know each other better.

In total we ended up rooming together in Bragaw, Metcalf, and UT. We’re now together in an apartment together off campus, in a sense that I would call living together rather than just rooming together, as seniors and plan on going to the same grad school. Having the awkwardness of first living together out of the way it made room for us to have more successful years later in college such as my research grant in philosophy, being VP of my fraternity, and Ted’s success with Dragfest – a music charity event, and the support to deal with the hectic process of applying to grad schools.

I tell you all this because I think heterosexual couples should be afforded the chance to be roomies before living together too. It takes the pressure off and gives people a practice run. College is about preparing people for the real world in the academic sense; I think college should also offer preparation for this social endeavor as well because it’s a big part of the real world.

If there is anything else you’d like to know, let me know!
-Jake "

I've said this before, and I'll say this again. TWW does NOT appreciate people coming onto the site strictly for the purpose of promoting their own stuff. Please CONTRIBUTE to the site by posting a bit more, then you'll get a lot more positive response.

In regards to your post ... please clarify the following: "serious", "couple", "living together". Do they have to be current students at NCSU? Etc. etc.

I HAVE to live with someone before marrying them. I have had several terrible experiences with roommates, and even my mom agreed that I should live with my boyfriend before we decided to get married.

It can be an awful idea.

Josh was living with Louise when she decided to break up with him and immediately started doing some guy who she brought back to the place that they shared. My fiance and I actually got together because he started coming to visit me on Greenville on the weekends to get away from her and her new boyfriend. And when she finally decided to move out, she took months and months to get all of her stuff out -- not to mention the complications of having a pet together.

Needless to say, we dated for nearly 2 years before we even thought about moving in together and we took babysteps like sharing a place with a roomate before getting a place alone. That story is in the other thread about living together from a couple of weeks ago. We've been living together for 2 years and we're getting married in June.

But yeah, living with your S.O. can be pretty fucking stupid. . .but sometimes it works out.

lol

id def want a 2 bedroom place, sometimes you just need your own space. i def couldnt imagine living with someone in my apt now - it has a lot of space but the only really seperate rooms are the bathroom and bedroom

my living room has a couch and a small bed (the one i grew up on). before we had a real couch i suggested we used the bed as a couch, and just use the color sheets on it that would make it match with the rest of the room and not stand out too much. a week or so later we saw the same idea in a magazine saying that college students/ppl with new apartments should do that to save money... so while there is a single bedroom, the living room can function as a separating sleep quarters as needed without the akwardness of a couple having seperate bedrooms. its also nice for having guests who stay over night.

I hope lewhite comes back to the thread and lets us know how & what if any of this stuff shes using and when it would be in the technician.

it is pretty obvious that you can't read... they aren't promoting anything - they are just trying to get comments and stories from people, which in all reality my friend, is what most threads on the entire wolfweb are seeking... and furthermore, who made you the official speaker for TWW?

whether you like it or not, this thread has sparked an interesting discussion and is good grounds for debate, so please explain to me how this thread isn't CONTRIBUTING to the greater good of your beloved Tdub...
