so my girlfriend drives a 95 honda civic, and today on the way to work she said the car started sputtering and the oil light started to flash and then came on. She changes the oil every 3K miles, and there is no visible signs of oil leaking from the car on the pavement where she parks. Just wondering if anyone else had an idea of what might be going on. Thanks

the stuff that keeps the timing chain lubricatedif it gets low the chain can skip and it would set the light offnoob

1. a 95 civic has a timing belt, not a chain2. if it were to have a timing chain, it would be lubricated with engine oil.3. dont try to call someone out unless you know wtf you're talking about4. if the timing chain "skips", it will do more than turn on an oil light5. see #3"noob"[Edited on February 9, 2006 at 2:46 PM. Check oil level, possible bad filter

did the car stall? if the rpms got low enough from it sputtering out, the oil light will always come on when the pressure drops that low. you'd hear a rattling, knocking sound if you had no pressure at speed.
