ok, need a trainer... badly... to fix barking and jumping... we have the basics, worked out the dominance issues... just need a trainer for that... oh, and for leash agression (towards dogs)

There's a volunteer at PetSound animal hospital in Cary that does training, and she's pretty good at it. I don't know if she's currently offering her services because she's also helping with their rescue, but her email is brittany@soundpet.org if you want to check.

tried the gentle leader... doesn't help the leash agression and sometimes it doesn't help the other two problems either.
finally resorted to a pinch collar (I personally hate them), and it definitely works when it is on them... have been training them for a few weeks and they still do the motions to act like idiots and bark though they stop pretty quickly... and of course, without it they are not cured... meaning that it wouldn't just be a training collar... if we can't move past it it doesn't do me any good.

I totally kick at training dogs. What breed(s) is it?

actually, it turns out one of my co-workers use to be a trainer... so i'm going to try her for free first, and then go from there.
she's trying to convince me to get a bark collar though (we've discussed all the other options and I have tried them and they don't work)... but i still don't particularly agree with them.
Any thoughts?

i can't believe people pay for this stuff, and can't observe basic animal behavior and psychology on their own

Gary Shaw. He did wonders for my dog. Real nice guy and has pay per session or buy a package and save some cash..854-9774 He has mad credits and travels all over. I checked out 3 trainers before I decided on him. Call him and see instant results. Dave

A bark collar didn't work for us, nor did a spray bottle, or yelling and scaring the crap out of him. We finally gave up and let him do whatever the fuck he wanted when he saw an imaginary squirrel.
