My neighbor is an alum and major contributor to an SEC school. He told me that he once spoke with a former SEC official who told him that often it was the case that the more prestigious school or coach, or the home team would get favorable calls. For instance if FSU was playing in Cameron... Coach K would often get the benefit of the doubt b/c he's Coach K.Not that the refs were intentionally trying to affect the game, just that they assumed he was right, or something to that effect. I don't know how to word it exactly.I assume the same could be true for the ACC... wasn't "bad calls" a part of the reason South Carolina left? I might be wrong about that.

A trip back in time ...NC state at washington, last yearfinal seconds, Hodge drives strong to the basket, is hammered in mid air... no callBasically, what your neighbor says is true. there have been several times this year at the RBC where state has gottne the benefit of the doubt as well.
