This is the first time I have had fog lights on a car.I can't really seeing it ever giving me extra visibility when it is foggy. Though the extra light is nice on the late nights going back home.
2/8/2006 8:22:58 AM
When I had fog lights, I used to leave them on all the time.
2/8/2006 8:24:12 AM
^ thats because u are a ricer
2/8/2006 8:42:56 AM
i dont have fog lights, so no, i dont.
2/8/2006 8:47:31 AM
not really, I just liked the extra light directly in front of me. They weren't yellow lights, just factory 'white' light pointed at the ground in front of the car.
2/8/2006 8:50:10 AM
note to jeep fags - those big round lights bolted onto your bumper are NOT fog lights.assholes.
2/8/2006 8:56:39 AM
I have factory fogs, and I leave them on all the time. But, I'm a ricer, so it's kind of expected
2/8/2006 9:20:33 AM
i'll switch mine on with my angel eyes around dawn or dusk
2/8/2006 9:20:47 AM
factory fog lights dont do shit.
2/8/2006 9:37:39 AM
yes pretty much, i think it looks cool.
2/8/2006 9:38:55 AM
I decided to completey paint my cobra headlites black. Therefore I use the fogs whenever I drive at night or early morning. I just use hand signals during the day for turning.
2/8/2006 10:32:59 AM
The factory ones on my truck are pretty good, but I've only used them in fog or maybe a few times when its snowed or iced. The last time I really washed my truck back in Sept I noticed they were made by Hella. The Z71 had shitty fog lights that ripped off easy.
2/8/2006 10:44:35 AM
2/8/2006 10:45:48 AM
don't knowmaybe so their owners are tricked into thinking that they just didn't blow a wad of cash on a piece of shit?
2/8/2006 10:53:40 AM
I guess I can agree with that. I sold the Jeep "Fog Lamps" on eBay for $110 and bought some Hella 500 driving lights which I pointed way too high so I can better piss off other drivers and blind owls in the trees.Gotta love overpriced OEM junk.
2/8/2006 10:55:43 AM
no - i keep them off generally - i can't justify having to change them sooner for the small amount of light the add
2/8/2006 11:04:15 AM
gotta love my lack of any kind of rear visibility through my rear window, and rear-view mirrors that fold in at the touch of a button!(seriously, the only thing I can see through my back window is the roofs of SUV's)
2/8/2006 11:29:19 AM
my side views fold in and out with a button - i've never once seen a valid use for it - if the spot is tight enough to warrant it then i'm going to be hopping out the sunroof - but i guess it's okay in case ppl are jackasses and hit your mirrors while walking - i've never had that happen though
2/8/2006 11:32:18 AM
i wired my hellas into my highbeams with a relay and a separate switch for back roads, when i am on the highway, i just use highbeams, but when i need the hellas, i flip them on, and they go off when i switch to low beams so i dont blind people. they light up the road 10x better than the factory highbeams. total cost for all that.... $6 for a relay and switch plus some extra wire i had laying around.
2/8/2006 11:37:36 AM
^ I wired mine the same way, but I rarely actually turn them off. They are great for spotting deer way in advance.
2/8/2006 11:41:40 AM
how often is spotting deer way in advance something that becomes useful? or even occur?
2/8/2006 11:44:54 AM
3-seasons of the year I drive to Lake Gaston and back almost every weekend. I generally spot two to three groups of deer each way (i.e. 4-6 groups per weekend.)Add to that having relatives that live in the country and a girlfriend that lives near Holly Springs and I see a lot of deer. But, I rarely use highbeams if I'm not in the country, so it's not like I drive around the city flipping back and forth like some people.I doubt I'll ever own a car without a good set of driving lights unless it is something that I don't plan to keep for more than a few months.[Edited on February 8, 2006 at 11:48 AM. Omar:In Europe, if you don't fold your mirrors in, you're likely to lose them if you park on the street.
2/8/2006 12:19:49 PM
Yes, my fog lights are on whenever my headlights are. Not only does it look better IMO, it gives me a little more visibility toward the sides of the car than headlights alone will.
2/8/2006 1:10:51 PM
2/8/2006 2:02:11 PM
The Hondas in Hong Kong and other Asian countries automatically fold in when you turn the car off. That is pretty cool.
2/8/2006 2:10:18 PM
No, because1. More bulbs to replace2. More lights = more annoyance3. I dont need the extra light. Hell, I'd drive without any lights on if I could.
2/8/2006 2:46:46 PM
^ that is just stupid.
2/8/2006 3:11:25 PM
I hate it when people drive with fog lights on at night. It's the same thing as meeting somebody with brights on.
2/8/2006 3:25:36 PM
wait till you meet me with my new high and low HID's on at the same time...hehe[Edited on February 8, 2006 at 3:34 PM. Reason : its like f'in day light...good for me, bad for you ]
2/8/2006 3:31:10 PM
^^Only if the fog lights are aimed wrong. They are supposed to point at the ground, about 30 feet out. They will not blind people if they are aimed right.

^ I love that little S-Bend on Eaton Ferry Rd about 5-10 miles on the Macon side of the bridge. I saw a Supra lose it there one day. He just oversteered and ended up backwards though. No damages.
2/8/2006 6:37:07 PM
hahahahahahahahahaha, i ended up landing my grandpas old tracker by the happy valley subdivsion sign after gettin airborne at the peak of that hill in the middle of the turn heading towards the bridge, almost shit myself, that little sucker doesnt stick to the road like my silverado does. i cleared the left lane and the ditch by a good two feet.
2/8/2006 10:04:25 PM
I do. Mine are in my headlight housings, so they've got a pretty similar pattern to the actual low beams. They fill out the edges of the light pattern pretty nicely.
2/8/2006 10:12:28 PM
^^ Nice.
2/8/2006 11:12:57 PM
i drive with my fog lights on all the time
2/8/2006 11:16:30 PM
the inside of this thread should say *if so you're a tool*
2/9/2006 12:28:38 AM
how do you change the bulb on one of them things anyways?i need to do hat on mine?any ideas? diagrams? Suggesstions?
2/9/2006 12:34:33 AM
no.I only use them when there's FOG.
2/9/2006 3:31:05 AM
^you probably pull off the road and call for help when there's fog
2/9/2006 8:13:58 AM
i only do once in awhile if its not raining. i dont like the big green fog light indicator that comes on the dash when mine are on. plus its a little bit ricery, but not too bad.but i admit i do get excited when it is raining and i'm like YEH! *button push* FOG LIGHTS, ON! hah
2/9/2006 8:30:31 AM
fuck off omar i see deer all the time, most recently trailwood.
2/9/2006 9:05:56 AM
i don't get it. fog lights are for the front and rear of the car. yet they are only on the front in the US.i'd have to replace the regular bulb with the yellow ones, ala europe.
2/9/2006 9:50:13 AM
i tend to hi-beam you fuckers that have your fog lights on for no reason...not the dinky oem ones though, the aftermarket ricer lights that make it hard for me to see
