Since Duke/UNC get together tonight, what do ya'll think is the biggest of all the college rivalries (nationally)?
2/7/2006 6:25:26 PM
Meredith vs. Peacesport-fucking
2/7/2006 6:28:13 PM
Football:1. Michigan vs OSU2. Alabama vs AuburnBasketball:1. NCSU vs UNC2. Duke vs UNC
2/7/2006 6:29:21 PM
Football:West Virginia - PittMichigan - Michigan State (have no excitement over OSU but I dig the non-state/state matchup)Basketball:NC State - UNCDuke - UNC
2/7/2006 6:32:44 PM
Harvard v. Yale
2/7/2006 6:33:27 PM
UM definitely looks down on MSU much like UNC looks down on us. Their relationship with OSU is more like a UNC/Duke one I think (if they're comparable at all...)
2/7/2006 6:33:52 PM
everyone who says ncsu vs. unc-ch is a moron
2/7/2006 6:34:31 PM
I'll add Army v. Navy
2/7/2006 6:35:16 PM
In football, Georgia-Florida is up there. Maybe not a high as Michigan-OSU in terms of media coverage, but growing up a Georgia fan, living in Florida, this rivaly is as intense as any.
2/7/2006 6:48:08 PM
UNC vs. Weber St.
2/7/2006 6:49:50 PM
RED RIVER SHOOTOUT
2/7/2006 6:54:30 PM
Florida-Tennessee in football. Hell now its started in bball too since Tennessee is good.
2/7/2006 6:56:02 PM
UNC vs Santa Clara
2/7/2006 6:58:21 PM
NCSU vs. NCSU fans
2/7/2006 7:00:22 PM
the Red River Shootout is the Duke/Maryland of college football... it's only cared about when they're both on top and it's not the one the real fans care about
2/7/2006 7:00:28 PM
Clemson-South Carolina is pretty good. Even though both aren't really any good at anything. They "fight" it out everytime.
2/7/2006 7:01:07 PM
Iron Bowl/thread
2/7/2006 7:01:20 PM

^^, ^agreed, i grew up in alabama (not even close to the school) and it's still huge around the whole state, ive been around here for a while and duke v unc is nowhere close in comparison to the iron bowl[Edited on February 7, 2006 at 7:04 PM. 2/7/2006 7:06:18 PM
haha
2/7/2006 7:08:38 PM
i come from 'Bama stock, so yeahi miss when they played at Legion Field and they had the crowd evenly split
2/7/2006 7:08:42 PM
All of these rivalries are relative so it's not like anyone is gonna reach a conclusion.Like Duke/UNC used to not be as big before the ESPN hype... but i guarentee lots of people out west dont care about that game at all.it's all relative
2/7/2006 7:08:55 PM
2/7/2006 7:09:12 PM
so what exactly is the reason they dont play at legion field anymore? i havent been paying very close attention to bama football in a little while
2/7/2006 7:11:31 PM
legion field- old and run down.
2/7/2006 7:12:55 PM
truebut its only one game a year
2/7/2006 7:15:41 PM
ahh ok, ive been to a game there before when i was young, but that was the last bama game i ever went to...think it may have been the year of the national championship...i do seem to remember david palmer running around all over the field. my mind is gone for some reason
2/7/2006 7:15:51 PM
football Texas/Texas A&M Alabama/Auburn Florida State/Miami Florida/Georgia Michigan/Ohio Statebasketball duke/unc (ever since media hype) ncsu/unc (before media hype) kentucky/louisville f' it I don't know basketball rivalries as well
2/7/2006 7:39:14 PM
I thought the games were played at Legion Field because Alabama refused to play at Auburn for a bunch of years?
2/7/2006 7:45:42 PM
i'm pretty sure they started playing there b/c it was a "neutral" site.
2/7/2006 7:50:16 PM
Football: OU/TexasMiami/FSUNotre Dame/USCClemson/South CarolinaAlabama/TennesseeKansas/Missouri (this is a serious rivalry in both football and basketball that has its roots from the Civil War...the football series is almost dead even)Pitt/Penn StateBasketball: Duke/uncchState/uncchMaryland/DukePurdue/IndianaMichigan/Michigan StateKentucky/Louisville

Wlfpk4Life, first of all you're an idiot for not listing the biggest rivalry in all of college football. OHIO STATE/MICHIGAN. other than that u forgot another big one ARMY/NAVY, most intense fan wise.b-ball is no contest. DUKE/unc w/o a doubt, and anyone who doesn't think so needs to take their own life.[Edited on February 7, 2006 at 8:11 PM. Reason : wrong name listed][Edited on February 7, 2006 at 8:12 PM. 2/7/2006 8:16:05 PM
sox/yankscelts/lakerssteelers/raiders or cowboys/skins
2/7/2006 8:17:53 PM
tiger woods vs. pga tour
2/7/2006 8:19:03 PM
i think the USC - UCLA rivalry is pretty big
2/7/2006 8:32:16 PM
i think alabama vs. tennesse is bigger than alabama vs. auburni know its an instate rivalry but tennessee/alabama has more historymy dad is a huge tennesse fan and he hates alabama more than anything
2/7/2006 8:32:45 PM
