http://www.atsdiesel.comhttp://www.bd-power.com/ - id take a long look on these sites;also try schied diesel. if you are going for mainly bolt-on stuff, id consider banks/ATS/bullydog[Edited on February 7, 2006 at 6:21 PM. Reason : heh]

banks and ats are both overpriced junk now. well, not complete junk but def. overpriced. they were where it was at years ago though.

im a big fan of the twin setups from BD and ATS
2/7/2006 7:50:32 PM
dude do what i did. #10 plate, gsk, intake, and straight pipe. that truck was a blast

^Reid...I don't know shit about the Bosch radial pumps...is it that hard to do the plate?
2/8/2006 12:04:25 AM
nope, not bad. leisurely afternoon deal.
2/8/2006 12:24:54 AM
I presume we're both talking about the VE pump, and not the p7100 jerk pump.
2/8/2006 8:17:21 AM
its easy, it was about 4 hours to do plate and gov springs. it really isnt to bad. i miss that old beat truck!
2/8/2006 8:42:25 AM
yea im deff just goin for the bolt on stuff, I mainly bought the truck just to haul my horse trailer with. Im also having trouble with the rear end popping and when making turns with the trailer. Im kinda leaning towards the clutch pack in the posi trac as the problem.
2/8/2006 1:45:51 PM
all the things i listed are bolt on
2/8/2006 7:45:52 PM
^^ put some redline in there
2/8/2006 10:23:56 PM
lol, "bolt ons" is a relative term with diesels.

easy now, this is the garage, lets now quarrel over the number of valves in our heads. We've got bigger things to overcome. k, thx.

I've been reading up on them, and the earlier 12v engines with 9mm injectors/holes are subject to cracking around the injector, namely towards the valves...the '92 and later ones have 7mm injectors and consequently have more meat and are much less prone to crack.Guess which one I own...

on this topic, I saw an 86 f250 (6.9) sporting a 6.72 blower in the newest issue of 4Wheel magazine. interesting.

2/11/2006 10:12:57 PM
zxappeal, are you going to buy that 240 so you'll have a motor to go in that Dodge if the Cummins messes up
2/11/2006 11:50:35 PM
Good lord no. If I did anything like that, I'd be slamming a "Leaning Tower of Power" slant six with a granny-low four speed in there.I love Ford straight sixes, but if there's anything that I love more, it's a slant six. 225 cubic inches of pure stump pulling power.
