eh. if you did the battery replacement yourself you might check to see if something got bumped and/or disconnectedfirst reset it atleast once.. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705" 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)"" 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step."

^is there some way that the click wheel has to be connected? cause all i did was reconnect whatever i disconnected to begin with. btw i am able to reset it without having to take the battery out. i do it by having the ipod connected to the wall outlet charger and then toggeling the hold button. then holding anywhere on the click wheel and after that taking it out of hold. it seems to reset then but still doesn't fix it.

well, the unconnected wheel was assuming it didnt work at allif you can reset it by pushing the buttons then there wouldnt seem to be much wrong with the connectionlooking at http://i16.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/28/5b/ab_1.JPG its just a single ribbon cable, if you're sure you put it in correctly then that shouldnt be a problemupdating the firmware would be another thing to tryyou could email apple tech support, not sure how helpful they'll be but it could be worth a shotthere are also a few hundred forums out there that specialize in ipod stuff, they might beable to help

^something interesting i found from cnet. go here and watch the clip of him putting his ipod back together after the ipod battery is replaced. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11293_7-6378822-6.html?tag=bnavat the end of the video, i see the ipod turn on and i see him touch the wheel to scroll and low and behold nothing moves. to me it looks like that his scroll wheel doesn't work either
