when i say dual, i mean dual three trumpet horns, not one horn with two trumpets, ebay is the shiznit picked up both for $70, one under each front frame rail, need to mount them a little safer once i fab up a new front skidplate, almost lost the right one to a fence i ran over at the entrance to some yuppie subdivision on lake wheeler rd., with a 5 gal tank i get about 8 seconds of a loud blast, then it takes a few minutes to pump back up.[Edited on February 3, 2006 at 8:55 PM. i need pics of your setup, man. that is the only spot i could find feasable to mount my horns on my truck and that spot wouldn't have been possible without the body lift. i wanted to mount them up front somewhere but could not find a decent spot without them being visible. what size line you running to yours? i'm running 3/8 and i only get 8-9 seconds before the tank is drained and i only have one set.

1/4" is plenty, and if you mount your horns as far away from the tank as you can, it gives you a little more time, but not quite as loud. i have the horns mounted flat on the bottom of the front frame rails under the bumper, the tank under the bed, and the compressor in my toolbox. i have 3/8" line going from my tank to the compressor, with a tee and a quick disconnect stickin out of the toolbox to run air tools with. it usually runs about 125 psi, but it takes it a while to recover from 80 where it kicks in. i need a bigger tank but have no where to put it.[Edited on February 3, 2006 at 9:14 PM. Reason : mine are definately visible, the whole things stick out]

everything i've read about air horns is the more volume you deliver, the louder they are. on my original setup, i had a set of fire engine horns (the old kind, similar to today's dumptruck horns). the engine they came off of had 1/4 supply line but when i installed them on my truck with 3/8, there was a huge difference in tone and db level. i plan on adding another 5 gal. tank to my setup in the near future. i have since added a quick connect to the port next to the gauge on my tank for air tools, fill tires, etc. i also replaced that shitty Viair compressor with a Thomas. the thomas fills up the tank twice as fast and is no where near as loud. check out the pedal switch for the air horns. pics are in my gallery.[Edited on February 3, 2006 at 9:22 PM. if you want the loudest sound, you need at least a 1 gal tank close to the horns, with a large line to your main tank
