They're comin to the Avalon on 20th St in Manhattan the 26th of this month How's RJ live? Anyone heard the new album with the two of 'em?-ZiP!-
2/3/2006 1:00:28 AM
Sorry ZiP, you're the only one whos ever heard of them.
2/3/2006 2:14:00 AM
No, the thought of RJD2 live definitely gives me a boehner.
2/3/2006 2:14:53 AM
well....it's pretty much the same as listening to his album at home...only it's not at home, it's louder, and you actually get to see him play.well, you might get to hear some unreleased tracks too.just dont try to talk to him after the show. he'll only be paying attention to the ladies. can't really blame him though.
2/3/2006 3:16:40 AM
How much "playing" does he actually do?I'm thinking of going.
2/3/2006 7:05:51 AM
Every time I've seen him, he's had 4 tables up there. It's pretty impressive watching him mix that many tracks at the same time.He also usually does some concert-only stuff. One time he did a pretty cool mash-up of video game songs. it was cool.on another note, the RJD2 + acey album is pretty dissapointing. The new Soul Position coming out soon should make up for it though.[Edited on February 3, 2006 at 10:17 AM. Reason : d]

i missed the show in feb, but i did catch him live tonight (at the Guggenheim in NYC), and snapped the following shots.he's a really nice guy - i talked with him a little, and he signed my messenger bag -ZiP!-

I saw RJ a few years back, he puts on a good show. Catches records on fire and shit. Very dope. He mashes songs up really good, his cuts are not as impressive but still very ill.
4/8/2006 12:52:06 PM

4/9/2006 5:29:18 PM
I'd suggest, in this order:#1 Deadringer#2 Since We Last Spoke#3 Your Face or your Kneecaps#4 The Silver Album#3 and #4 are harder to get, and may not be as satisfying to ya as the #1 and #2 which are polished, solid full releases.-ZiP!-

fuck, RJD2 did the beat for Cunninglynguists' "Seasons"? That explains why its about the tightest thing on any of their albums.im not hating on their lyrics, but, i don't yet understand the latest album at all, in terms of production-ZiP!-[Edited on April 30, 2006 at 12:22 AM. Reason : ]
