while Herb is on a roll
2/2/2006 1:55:40 AM
lets see if herb finally produces a legit NBA prospect
2/2/2006 2:02:52 AM
I'd say top 20 is legit. Not Hodge's fault that Denver drafted another guard when they already had like 30.
2/2/2006 2:21:41 AM
I shit on this thread. Post this crap in the recruiting thread.

this year was solid, and get this, while being subpar. Subpar in that we usually have better years but solid in that we met immediate needs. We added a solid crop of WR's, a potential great QB, a good group of DB's and a few LB's and DE's. Not to mention a good transfer at TE that should meet our needs there (between Phillips and Hannah) We didn't need RB's, we signed a glut of O-line last season, we are good at DT. Yes we could of done better and I believe next year will be the flowering of fresh relationships with our new staff.

So you would rather us produce some NFL talent like Mario, Manny, etc. and not win as much? Or have system players who have a chance to become NBA talent and win more???
2/2/2006 2:00:56 PM
You really can't compare NBA and NFL college/ pro performance correlations. The two pro sports operate on vastly different dynamics.

also if you would like to question me, please doif you refer to my past posts, most are followed by stats/knowledgejust because i dont agree with you, dicknose, doesnt mean I dont make a valid pointand im sorry people, having a class ranked in the lower 25% of the ACC is pretty bad

also my point of the thread is this:With our facilities, we should have recruits dying to play for us. So essentially, I am questioning Amato's ability to keep staff and to run a sucessful program without philip rivers

i was just saying with the recent success in herb's recruiting, maybe we'll have a big time pro prospectits exciting for the school, and we get national recognition which helps build our program
2/2/2006 8:32:13 PM
all right. i agree. it would be fun to follow a state player in the nba.
2/2/2006 8:34:10 PM
thats what i was sayingi mean if you look at every great program, they all have their signature NBA playerwe really dont in the past 20 years, esp bc googs was under the radar, and herb doesnt have any under him
2/2/2006 8:35:30 PM
IBTL

2/2/2006 9:31:32 PM
yes i realize that, and that is why I am saying it now
2/2/2006 9:34:50 PM
Well, I mean we've really been worse than Clemson, Virginia, FSU, etc in the past 20 years. They don't have that "NBA guy" either. We've been really really bad. It wasn't too long ago we were finishing 9th in the league every year for about a decade.
2/2/2006 9:39:04 PM
http://www.greenwooddogpound.com/Foot05/MrMiami.html Look at the pictures and see what Chuck is up against. The problem is we have too many fans that think we should be in the top 25 every year. When was the last time we were dominate for a prolonged period? State is not the easiest sell. The program is light years ahead of the MOC era and competes in a better acc. Amato has been to a bowl game in 5 of 6 years. I really do not see the problem.
2/4/2006 12:48:10 AM
OMG LETS NOT IMPROVE FROM YEAR TO YEAR OMG
2/4/2006 1:11:56 AM
for someone who hates ncsu, you sure do expend a lot of energy on them
2/4/2006 1:19:25 AM
big game holt isnt signature enough? or are you just talking about basketball?
2/4/2006 3:22:51 AM
Simmons is going to be a big NBA prospect
