wow, i think that's just about everybody i wanted to see from coachella... and a hell of a lot closer than cali!
2/1/2006 11:18:03 AM
Yeah, man. Radiohead, Beck, Tom Petty, Steve Earle, Elvis Costello...those dudes totally suck. Goddamn them for playing succinct shit.

2/1/2006 11:34:01 AM
this is the only time ive wanted to go to this thing.maybe thats b/c im not jam band dope.
2/1/2006 11:36:13 AM
15 or 16 bands I want to see, that's about ten more than most years.
2/1/2006 11:42:59 AM
god damn hippies
2/1/2006 12:03:07 PM
I will have to mull this over. I had fun when I went in 2004 and the lineup wasn't nearly this good (note: I'm not a jam band fan). I'd be willing to spend about a third of the ticket price just for radiohead. so the question is whether the rest of the lineup warrants another hundred bucks. . . if there was one more big name who didn't come around like beck, I would be sold. . . Maybe more will be announced before the tickets go on sale.
2/1/2006 12:10:01 PM
radiohead, beck, elvis costello and the imposters, bright eyes, ben folds, cat power, steven malkmus and the jicks, clap your hands say yeah, seu jorge all people i have a high intrest in seeing live, not as hippie-ish a line-up this year as in years past

Radiohead, Tom Petty, Beck, Elvis Costello, Death Cab, Bright Eyes, Bela Fleck, Ben Folds, Robert Randolph, Matisyahu, My Morning Jacket, Cat Power, Atmosphere, Son Volt, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Shooter Jennings.Solid. I want to go.

holy crapyou had me atRadiohead, Tom Petty, Death Cab, Bright Eyes, My Morning JacketI so wanna go
2/1/2006 12:39:59 PM
looks like a solid lineup to me. it's a much broader lineup than years past. beck is great live and i still haven't seen radiohead live. you guys should definitely check out moe. if you have never seen them before. don't be scared by the jamband label most people give them. i would love to go, but its not likely due to vacation time req'd to get there from ny.[Edited on February 1, 2006 at 12:53 PM. There's just not enough bluegrass this year. Last year had arguably the best 2 bluegrass bands on the scene with the Yonder Mountain String Band and Old Crow Medicine Show. Robert Randolph should play with Phil Lesh & Friends. That would make it worth the trip. And where is Gov't Mule? Warren Haynes is a legacy at this and other similar festivals. He plays with about half of the bands there.[Edited on February 1, 2006 at 6:24 PM. Reason : warren]

^^^ OCMS is more old-time than bluegrass, and YMSB will probably end up getting added when it's all said and done. Also, Ricky Skaggs has an amazing band, and is pretty good live. He gets evangelical sometimes though at his shows, and I don't know how well that will go over here.

2/10/2006 7:50:52 PM
is bela fleck really that popular? he's been around for ages and i've never really heard anyone make a big deal about him, i went to a free acoustic stage concert/demonstration given by him in hickory 5-6 years ago and there were people there but it wasn't crazy, his best albums had already been out for a while by this point as well... don't get me wrong, i'm glad he's gaining popularity, he certainly deserves it, but i guess i'm just surprised by it, is it some new thing?
