Slid into a curb when I hit a patch of black ice at low speed. Right front of the car shakes when being driven over 5-10mph. Bent wheel? Tire looks fine, loses no pressure.Took it for an estimate. Shop says:1994 Nissan Sentra LERight lower control arm - 1165.95 (labor 189.00)Right Strut - 211.90 (112.00)CV joint - 175.00Alignment - 60.00What else could be damaged? It looks fine from the outside. If it's fucked, how much could I reasonably sell it for?[Edited on February 1, 2006 at 2:21 AM. Reason : eh]

your pride, but thats not worth anything

That sounds like a pretty complete list of things that could be damaged, however the prices seem very high.Look into a used control arm - they never really wear out unless you hit something. Also, you should be able to replace both front struts for the price of the one they listed. Shop around a bit. When I slid the coupe quattro into a curb (while knowinly playing on an iced over parking lot) I ended up with only a bent control arm, which was $200 and a half hour to replace. (after the control arm took 6 weeks to arrive)

^ I AGREE, aske a fellow tdubber to take a look and fix it for you

As long as you have a decently sized breaker bar for the control arm bolts, or an impact gun, then all of that can be replaced yourself.

^^have we had any ice around here lately? noif you think about it, that probably means he's not anywhere near raleigh. and driving back to raleigh at 5-10mph would take a long time.

those prices are way too high, ill get back to you on some resonable prices, ill call around this afternoon cause its kinda slow at work

i thought this was another 0 thread. but then you said 'black ice' so it couldn't have been him. he just needs dry surface to slide into curbs or gaurd rails.

2/2/2006 1:12:19 PM
^^ god dammit stop associating yourself with a place that has built up a sketch reputation over the years
2/2/2006 9:18:21 PM
oh yeah i know that estimate is a scam, but what do you expect for free the shop i went to is called In-Tune Auto Care. They suck for sure, but it was the closest shop at the time.i've been calling the junkyards and stuff so hopefully they'll get back to me.it's a beater i got from a friend. little cars have terrible traction. i wish the accident happened in raleigh, then i could get zxappeal to fix that shit on the cheap.[Edited on February 2, 2006 at 9:25 PM. Reason : i'll see if i can take it apart this weekend and see if anything is bent noticeably.][Edited on February 2, 2006 at 9:42 PM. Reason : some bastard broke the drivers window too, where can i find a cheap replacement?]
