Is there anyone that is really interested in making sure that we can have a club football team this fall. We need one or 2 guys to be student officers. Main thing right now would be to attend a meeting in Greensboro on Feb. 11th (UNC-G). If interested, you can have your 1st year dues waived. Could be a savings of around $100-$200. I don't know much about the finances yet. I'm trying to take a more active role at this point though. We need to have 2 student officers attend this meeting, and later on possibly ask student gov. for money on the club's behalf. Send me or rblee a message if interested and make sure you can do the Feb. 11th thing. We HAVE to be at that meeting to field a team. Thanks.

^ That's cool. I don't have a lot of free time right now, but I'm going to go to that meeting if possible. I can't be an officer b/c I'm not a student here anymore. rblee is also not a student so he can't do it either. I think if we get 2 officers by the 11th, we'll be fine and can go from there.

I think there is still enough interest to field a team, but no one is stepping up to be an officer.I'd love to play some pick-up football, but just can't risk it. We used to play every single Saturday, usually 6-on-6 or close to it at Garner's practice field my first 3 years of college. After that I found club football, and then that ended along with graduating, and I've played some flag football since then but thats about it. I'd love to try to play in pads again, but with a full-time job and rent, etc. to pay, I just can't risk playing a pick up game of tackle football. Not sure playing club would be smart, but I never claimed to be a genius. I'm still optimistic about getting this thing going. I think theres just a lot of uncertainty about what it takes to re-start a program, and most people just want to play football and not deal with anything else. We just have to realize that its not going to be that easy. A couple people are going to have to step up and be officers....

No. I'm not a student now. You have to be a student or staff to play, which I guess means you have to be a permanent employee if your not a student. I don't think someone who is a temp can play.

Scott, you played for Carolina or against them? When did you play? We've got a little over a week to find an officer or 2. Hell, can someone find someone else who can pretend they're going to play and show up for the meeting. Maybe theres a bribe in there somewhere. I'm flat broke right now. Anyone got any ideas? We just need at least one or 2 students at that meeting from what rblee told me. Anyone here want to be on the team, free of charge, never practice, dress for the games and either never play or play late in the game if possible, your choice. Tell some hot chick you play football to impress her. Hell, you can be a captain, go out for the coin toss. Maybe be on the kickoff team. I'm actually serious here. Might be worth something to someone. Could be the "12th Man" (if thats ok with TX A&M) or "Rudy" or whatever. Thats about all I got. Anyone got any ideas?

BTW - Club Football is a registered student organization. I am the faculty/staff advisor. Apparently, the original would-be officers have decided to go AWOL. Student organizations can request $ from the senate appropriations committee (student government). I believe the deadline for getting in requests is this week. To make a request for funds from the senate appropriation committee, student officers representing the club need to do this. So, there are some pretty important turning points this week, is there is to be a team. I've gone by myself to meet with the league twice. If I were again to be the only person going on the 11th, there would be no point in my going. I could give a ride to 2 or 3 people. It is on a Saturday.
