move to australia or convince yourself that buyers there choose between the xr6 and the monaro, which you can buy here for a song with a pontiac bodykit if you can convince yourself that 350 hp is enough.

sum, A did you just use "ford" as a reason to buy a car? Most proud owners are proud of the car in spite of the brand. I'm one of them. I drive an LS first, a Lincoln second. A Ford third. Actually, a jaguar first when I can get away with it, but I usually can't because the ford-sourced parts bin parts allow my license plate to fall off and distract from the 4.0L DOHC v8's high rpm crescendo....B a turbocharged inline 6 is better than the most popular naturally aspirated v8 ever? It's exotic if its not normally available domestically, I guess, but then so is a Rover v8.... C pushrods work just fine for a torquey street-legal production vehicle, thank you. What, did you need to rev to 14k rpm? Last I checked, the pushrods are a big reason for why the chevrolet 6.0 Liter v8 manages to stay so compact. The gas mileage is decent, the exhaust note is great, and the torque is abundantD Holden is a division of GM, they're all GM products when the monaro was just some weird australian car and no one had seen it as a GTO. I'll agree the holden version is prettier without the dumb pontiac plastic, but definitely don't get a falcon.....seriously, go sit in one. It's akin to back when Oldsmobile had the achieva, the 88, and the aurora all in one showroom wearing the same brand badge. The GTO, having had nothing to do with pontiac's brand agenda, is from another group. If I really wanted some chic Australian/ European performance, I'd get a GTO, and then buy Holden or HSV or Vauxall/opel bumpers, sills, and badges. I'll post some recent pics of the alternate brand clones.... the HSV and Vauxall VXR versions are especially Austalicious....

Its 400 HP since last year.

^right, but the point is to get one cheap. the 400hp one existing is why I like the 350 hp one so much. instant obsoleteness depreciation. There were otw brand new 2004 models going for 22k when the 2005s went on sale last year, down as much as 10 grand in a single year! I mean, gm depreciation is predictable, but that was clearly a case of getting rid of the less desirable cars! I guess the point is that I knew about the 400hp.... I was indicating the older car when I said:

ok its going into a '63 falcon i'd never run a gm product in a ford and vice versa and mopar included.next the xr6 motor is based off the original line of ford inline six's which were used in the original falcons.i like inline 6s because they're as big as you can get right now and have main bearings between every rod.i'd like inline 8s if they had any that breathed allright and could be crammed under a decent length hood.yes the ls1 is a good motor yes it handles power better than the 302s (cause its a 90 degree taller deck motor) and not only that i'm a person that likes to be unique cramming a chevy motor in a ford isn't unique what it is imho is a disgrace to both companiesand i know about the holden/vauxhall/gto thing... its just that holden was a loose cannon company that gm didn't really have their fingures in they just used gm engines.fpv is still like that. [Edited on February 8, 2006 at 3:02 AM. Reason : not to mention they come with a gt40r turbo which is a fucking killer unit]
