can they be stopped? by who? will they win 70? voice your opinion i say no, goin all the wayy
1/28/2006 3:40:09 PM
i dont know if they'll win 70 but i think they'll beat any team in the league in a 7 game series, hence they will win the title this yearps: Larry Brown is overrated
1/28/2006 3:58:03 PM
go pistons
1/28/2006 4:01:08 PM
Barring an injury to the starting 5, they're taking the title.70 wins...hell, maybe. 36-5 is pretty fucking good.[Edited on January 28, 2006 at 4:03 PM. Reason : one off]
1/28/2006 4:03:18 PM
fuck 70 winsi dont care if we make 70as long as we win the title
1/28/2006 4:04:52 PM
Best team i've seen in a while. Billups is MVP in my opinion and their defense is downright scary at times. They've beaten the Spurs twice by double digits. With home court advantage, this title is theirs to lose.
1/28/2006 4:45:51 PM
Anyone else notice how the Pistons are doing better and the Timberwolves are worse. Hello Flip Saunders!!! I thought he just never had anything other than KG in Minnesota.
1/28/2006 5:44:12 PM
i bet minnesota is kicking itself right now
1/28/2006 5:51:07 PM
well their coach is dwane caseyit isnt like they hired someone with extensive HC experience
1/28/2006 5:51:59 PM
i guess they figured he was better in the long run, but i haven't seen hardly anything that would indicate he's gonna be a good coach
1/28/2006 5:53:09 PM
Right now, in the NBA, it's the Pistons...then everybody else. Unless someone in their starting 5 gets seriously hurt, the Pistons will win the title. I agree with PackMan03 that the MVP should be Billups, but it should be shared with either Kobe or Nash, and all five starters for the Pistons should be on the All-Star team. If they don't win 70, then they will get close like 68. Flip Saunders is going to be Coach of the Year. Even though he inherited a team that was put together by Rick Carlisle and Larry Brown, Saunders made them a team that can score at will and still beat you defensively. This year, no one can really stop them in a 7-game series. If they want help, call Jerry Sloan. The Jazz are the only team to sweep the Pistons this year. Other than that, the Pistons are going to regain that belt back. Oh yeah, Joe Dumars is a great basketball mind that doesn't enough credit for making those transactions to put that team together.[Edited on January 28, 2006 at 6:42 PM. Reason : Easier to read]
1/28/2006 6:41:46 PM
yea but flip handles these guys much better than larry brownrumor had it billups got an earful anytime he put up a three ball, larry gave em no freedom... flip probably can just say, ok go have fun, yall are the best
1/29/2006 12:57:18 AM
1/29/2006 11:56:02 AM
I'm not gonna say that Flip gives them that much freedom, because they still have great organization to the way they play. The main difference is that they aren't worried about getting that earful, and that makes it ten times more fun to play. Pistons all the way!
1/29/2006 12:11:11 PM
bttt as they trash the Lakers
1/29/2006 6:57:42 PM
ive been a pistons fan since 7:10pm 1/29/06, we're going all the way baabyy
1/29/2006 7:41:06 PM
^ aha
1/29/2006 7:49:01 PM
they aren't going to lose another game this yr.
1/29/2006 11:40:15 PM
OMG should we bench the starters?????
1/29/2006 11:40:49 PM
sad when kobe, iverson, and lebron get all that attention... look at this pistons team05-06 pistons vs. uh lets say the.... 92-93 bulls????? on a neutral court,,, both teams playing their asses off, who would win?[Edited on January 30, 2006 at 12:25 AM. Reason : who would win?]
1/30/2006 12:24:41 AM
I started looking forward to seeing the Pistons make history this year, but then I remembered that I hate almost every player on the team with a passion. Oh well.
1/30/2006 12:29:00 AM
Of all the former UNC players in the NBA, Rasheed Wallace is probably the one I hate the least.
1/30/2006 1:05:14 AM
The Pistons are great, but you'd be stupid to sleep on the Spurs. They're still the most fundamentally sound team in the NBA.

ginobli wasnt playing. isnt he the best player in the world or something?
1/30/2006 1:14:54 AM
he's a rich man's dunleavy
1/30/2006 1:15:37 AM
you mean the great white hope.
1/30/2006 1:40:07 AM
ginobli isnt that good
1/30/2006 3:19:17 AM
Aha.Aha.Wrong.
1/30/2006 3:31:07 AM
Not sleeping on the Spurs--I think they're the best in the West once Manu is back in form. But I thought Detroit was clearly the better team last year when they showed up to play (which they didn't do all the time, including in a couple of games in the finals)...and they're beyond that this year.
1/30/2006 7:43:01 AM
pistons beat down the spurs with ginobli as well as without him.
1/30/2006 9:59:02 AM
Ginobili gets more fouls called for him than Duke AND UNC
1/30/2006 10:06:33 AM
^ its true
1/30/2006 8:35:20 PM
um no...........
2/1/2006 7:36:41 AM
btttt for another win
2/4/2006 12:37:09 AM
70 is so hard to make, Think about it, Detroit is barley on pace and that means they have to play this good the rest of the way. No Chance.
2/4/2006 1:08:22 PM
I think 45 games is a pretty good barometer of a team, and they're on pace for 71 wins right now. It's more than reasonable to think they CAN do it.
2/4/2006 1:25:48 PM
they can,, but nothing is for sure
2/4/2006 2:50:20 PM
40-8? had a two game skid, including losing to the worst team in the NBA, not gonna make it now
2/9/2006 1:37:05 AM
I still wanna see em try for itit'd be fun
2/9/2006 4:23:03 AM
they'll win about 67-68.....crack the top 10 all-time......no way 70......teams get tired at the end of the season....thats what happened tothe bulls...they were 41-3, then they went 31-7 the rest of the way because rodman had a suspension and the team was tired.
2/9/2006 7:20:48 AM
actually atlanta isn't the worst team in the league...if you have been following them, they could have won about 10 more games if they didn't pull a NCSU and blow leads in the 4th quarter
2/9/2006 7:23:36 AM
they will lose today to the heat....(I hope)
2/12/2006 4:07:21 PM
flip saunders has already said 70 wins isn't a priority. he'll rest starters for the playoffs
2/12/2006 4:14:06 PM
http://www.nba.com/games/20060212/DETMIA/boxscore.htmlNo way.......this thread is over
2/12/2006 6:15:30 PM
Pistons-Sixers game on ESPN right now. Philly was making it a game, but Detroit's putting some real distance on their lead now in the 4th.Hunter and McDyess are seriously improved over last year.
3/29/2006 9:38:16 PM
^yea for real.... pistons lookin strong again
3/29/2006 10:08:18 PM
