i searched and found nothing. anybody ever been to this place? its on spring forest right at capital. i went tonight. its similar to kanki but they have a buffet with all kinds of raw meat, vegetables, and sauce. you fill a bowl up with whatever you want then you take it to the cooking station and they cook it on a huge round mongolian grill. only 10 bux. they also have a sushi bar and japanese hibachi menu.8-9/10

Enough carbs to make you take a three hour involuntary nap.
1/26/2006 11:41:03 PM

1/26/2006 11:43:01 PM
Add an egg to improve the texture of your noodles.
1/26/2006 11:43:56 PM
that place is the bombshiti go at least once a month
1/26/2006 11:49:36 PM
i ate there once... it gave me the most explosive, stinky (and impressive) diarrhea ive ever had in my life.
1/26/2006 11:51:08 PM
Last time I was there the owner wouldn't stop riling up the conservative crowd of middle-aged parents by shouting and banging on that damn gong.Food wasn't that bad, really, it's not terrible for mongolian (although it's quite a bit different from the other mongolian restaurants that I've been to). It was better the three times before that I went, though.Still good, I'd go there if I was in the mood for mongolian.
1/27/2006 12:00:52 AM
I really like Crazy Fire. Had our rehearsal dinner there.Yeah you can't really compare it to other Mongolian restaurants, since what you actually put together likely isn't Mongolian, and the only things that are guaranteed Mongolian are the rice and grill.
1/27/2006 12:03:43 AM
its japanese. they just use a mongolian grill
1/27/2006 12:04:43 AM
I like it quite a bit, myself. Be careful, though, kids--don't over-spice.
1/27/2006 12:09:09 AM
My friends in the past tended to over-oil more than spice.
1/27/2006 12:10:52 AM
I remember the one is cary used to let you get as many bowls of food as you wanted. and then they stopped...and just charged you by the bowl instead of charging you for a buffet style meal where you could get bowl after bowl for one flat price. When I went to the one on spring forest it never had that buffet style. It always charged by the bowl.
1/27/2006 12:23:44 AM
white rice or brown rice?
1/27/2006 12:25:38 AM
bali hi (spelled wrong) on wake forest is >>>>>>>>>>> betterit is the best mongolian grill period... fucking awesomeJapan Express next to best buy on glenwood is the best hibachi <$6... beats the shit out of khanki but without the $12 show
1/27/2006 12:33:42 AM
^ummm...Hibachi Xpress in crossroads is the best in Raleigh[Edited on January 27, 2006 at 12:50 AM. Reason : whoops]
1/27/2006 12:36:43 AM
fuckin wrong...japan express on glenwood has white sauce and the other sauces in ketchup despensers...if you want good food at crossroads go to Baba Ganauj(sp?) next door in cross roads and get a lamb shwirma (sp?)
1/27/2006 12:38:40 AM
there is no mongolian grill in crossroads
1/27/2006 12:39:36 AM
hibachi... not mongolian grill[Edited on January 27, 2006 at 12:43 AM. Reason : point being... Bali Hi is the best period... by an exponential ammount]
1/27/2006 12:43:06 AM
Crazy Fire is on Buck Jones, which is right next to Crossroads. Close enough.
1/27/2006 12:43:27 AM
been there once not too long agoA+++
1/27/2006 1:23:29 AM
just keep an eye on which foods yours, especially when its crowded. a bunch of jokers like to either speak up and take yours, or not speak up when it is theirs, until you convince yourself that it must be yours and you just lost track of it. happened to me last week. i ended up sitting down with a frickin veggie plate.
1/27/2006 2:02:06 AM
That place sucks. Its a crap hole designed to make fat lower middle class Americans think theyre getting some Asian culture while adding to their waistline.
1/27/2006 5:35:21 AM
but it tastes good
1/27/2006 7:40:37 AM
1/27/2006 7:52:10 AM
it's ok, i like it...but it's a lazy resturant...i mean, all they do is throw your food on the grill...you come up with all the combinations...they do almost nothing but bring you drinks and walk around in a circle banging their sticks...but i still eat there...hell, my dad's contemplating opening up something similar near the coast...oh, and just sticking a "Crazy Fire" sticker over the engraved "Stir Crazy" logo on the chairs is really tacky but GONG IF YOU ARE HAPPY!
1/27/2006 9:10:33 AM
i thought you had to have worked there to get on tdub in the first place.wtf socrates. go drink your hemlock.
1/27/2006 9:13:43 AM
1/27/2006 9:17:57 AM
Bali Hai > Crazy Fire
1/27/2006 9:20:56 AM
i like it but always convince myself to add more oil/sauce and overdo it i couldnt handle by the bowl cuz i usually get 3+ small/medium size bowls instead of big ones...i live variety.
1/27/2006 9:22:16 AM
if you've got a big appetite (like me), the friday nights all-you-can-eat is def worth the price.also, their definition of "brown rice" is "fried rice"
1/27/2006 10:04:39 AM
(without reading most of this)10 bucks? You got ripped off. When I went to the one on Falls of the Neuse couple years ago it was like a 4-5 dollar bowl--think it was the big one but I'm not sure.
1/27/2006 2:10:49 PM
1/27/2006 2:11:49 PM
^^that was per bowl. I believe $10 is all you can eat.[Edited on January 27, 2006 at 2:12 PM. Reason : ^^]
1/27/2006 2:12:47 PM
okay, then I'm glad I happened to go during lunch since the bowl was more than enough for me. (and I just read the rest of the thread.)
1/27/2006 2:16:03 PM
1/27/2006 2:17:35 PM
the grill isnt mongolian nor is the foodits the techniqueback in the days (i dont know how long ago) those mongols use to kill their food, and use their shields as the oven with fire underneath it and their swords as utensilsbig round oven=shieldslong metal sticks=swords[Edited on January 27, 2006 at 2:35 PM. 1/27/2006 2:48:25 PM
I heard mixed reviews about the one in Burlington
1/27/2006 3:03:09 PM
It's alright. Not my favorite place to eat but not the worst.
1/27/2006 3:09:31 PM
seriously if you people who had Crazy Fire and thought it was good and never been to Bali Hai, you need to at least give it a shot. So much of a difference in the way the food is prepared and the the spices are applied.
1/27/2006 3:26:41 PM
just ate there this afternoon, good shit
1/27/2006 3:49:20 PM
