For people who have taken this course already/are taking it now... I'm looking at page 35 of Knopp's Knotes.I'm.... really not sure wtf is going on with this assignment. My digits are 12, divided by 50 and rounded = 0.2. Ok, good so far. Then I get to the words "base equivalent added" and I think, "ok, titration problem" and I go back to page 29 and follow the directions for making a titration curve for an amino acid. But then I stop myself in the middle of graphing it out and think "we're not supposed to make a graph yet... we're going to collect the values in class tomorrow, combine them, and then make a graph. But how else am I supposed to find the pH for 0.2 base equivalents added... and what does that really mean anyway? I wish Knopp would actually teach us the things he assigns for us to do before they're due. Or maybe he did and I'm just retarded and should switch back into CHASS or something.Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

oh goodness, thank you for reminding me! Mine is 1.8I don't really understand what he is talking about honestly. The chart of pKa's is on page 64 right?

Yeah, p. 64 in the 4th edition text. Do you have any clue about how to work this?

is this due in class or problem session?

problem session... he won't ever collect anything in classAnd we are supposed to do proline, not valine, right?

yeah i think we are supposed to do proline....doesn't seem like a huge complicated thing so i'm just going to get to problem session early....when is your problem session?

I don't think he is going to collect it, but something similar to it might be on the quizi hate the way he teaches, i always leave the classroom confused and not knowing what to do.this is going to be one hell of a semester

when i took the class back in the day, it seemed like the stuff he talked about in the class wasn't the major focus of his tests. He would focus more on small details that were in the book. I made it out of his class with a C and I was happy.
