o yeah, worst first post ever

Since Indiana loses a guy that wasn't even playing, I would say they got the better end of the deal.

Worst first post ever? Some guy just started a post about Josh Powell being in the NBA about 6 months late.. try again buddy

as far as a player vs. player comparison, kings are better off, but ^^ is right as far as the deal and the situations of the teams.

OK i can deal with that.. Ron Artest is definately a better player.. I think Peja is soft and plays no defense but Artest had not been playing and was not going to play so Pacers did well by actually getting something in return for Artest

if i were.... i'd be:ron artest: pissed - sacramento won't be a contender this yearpeja: i'd be elated - good talent all arounddanny granger: ready to take a reduction in minutesanyone associated with the pacers organization: buying larry bird dinner for all of 2006 for making such a move

They should try to keep getting Granger minutes because he's going to be a solid player.. experience will only help

Today, the deal FINALLY went through. The Kings ship Peja to the Pacers for the "Tru Warrior" himself, Ron Artest. As far as who comes out better, it's favors Sacramento. Here's why:Granted, Peja is a great player. He is one of the top three 3-point shooters in the game. I think in Indiana, he will be able to get open shots and help the team on offense. However, Peja has some flaws in his game. Sometimes he can not create his own shot, and one of the main reasons why he was successful in Sacto is the fact that guys like Webber, Divac, and Miller created open shots for him. He thrived off the passing big men of the Kings. Also, Peja is DEFINITELY NOT the best defender in the world. Rick Carlisle plays a more defensive style of game, and it's going to be a learning process. Plus, Peja will be a free agent, so the Pacers will get to find out if they want him past this year. Why Artest will be good for the Kings? One word: defense. The Kings don't play defense. Simple as that. Artest will add a defensive presence and a hard working Piston-like attitude on the defensive end. Plus, Artest can score so the Kings still have that third option besides Bibby and Miller. The flaws: pretty much all the baggage that comes with Artest. Artest has got to play hard for the Kings and leave the drama at home. The Maloofs took a really big gamble on Artest by trading for him, and they know that Artest has 3 years left on his contract. Plus, Artest hasn't played since early December, so he may or may not be in top shape. As a diehard Kings fan, here's my message to the Tru Warrior: If you play hard, Kings fans will root for you. As long as you play strong defense on Kobe four times a year, play team ball, and not go "Tru Warrior" on the fans at Arco, Kings fans will support you. You will get your touches and your points, trust me on that. As long as you want to be there, Kings fans will love you. That's my take.[Edited on January 26, 2006 at 1:19 AM. Reason : Go Kings.]

my take is its going to suck for both teams, artest is going to be a cancer and peja will sulk in indiana and get hurt

as a midly interested pacers fan, this somewhat excites me

Peja is already hurt. He has a bulging disc in his back, and it has been limiting him.

my NBA teams are the pistons, spurs, pacers, heat, lakers, and lebrongotta keep those bases covered

You mean Pistons, Spurs, Pacers, Heat, Kobe and LeBron? Not bad, but I hate the Lakers. I respect Kobe because he's just that damn good. However, I dislike the Lakers. Kobe and Shaq would always beat my Kings. I hated it because I always thought that we had the better team, but the Lakers were just that tough.
